Our Story

Thomson-MacConnell Cadillac, Inc. was founded in 1953 as Thomson Brothers Cadillac by Dabney and Lewis Thomson. In 1954, the facility that we currently occupy was completed and became the new home of Thomson Brothers Cadillac. In 1966, Charles MacConnell, the dealership's General Manager, purchased Lewis Thomson's share of the company and the dealership was renamed Thomson MacConnell Cadillac, Inc. Upon Dabney Thomson's death in 1970, Mr. MacConnell acquired the balance of stock of the dealership. During the 1970's Mr. MacConnell's sons, Chris, Dan, and Tim all joined the company. When Charles MacConnell died in 1981, the three sons took over management responsibilities with Chris MacConnell as President of Thomson MacConnell Cadillac, Inc. Today, Thomson-MacConnell Cadillac, Inc. has grown to include separate departments of New Car Sales, Used Car Sales, Leasing and Rental, Body Shop, Service, Parts, Finance and Insurance. The people of Thomson-MacConnell Cadillac have built the company into one of the top 50 Cadillac dealerships in the country. We take great pride in providing a superior sales and service experience for our customers. Philosophy/Mission Statement: The reason for our company's existence is to provide outstanding and unsurpassed sales and service experiences for our customers at competitive prices. Therefore, we will be a company that is professionally managed and dedicated to meeting the needs of our customers, fellow team members and our community. Hey Cadillac Family! we have a huge clientele base looking for cars. Is there a sale associates with excellent customer service skills that we can send our clients to?
Today, we purchased a 2017 Buick Enclave from your salesman Brandon. We were highly impressed by his knowledge and superior business like manner that he dealt with the purchase. We worked with Brandon over a week trying to make this deal happen. It was his up-front business practice that helped seal the deal. We did go to other showrooms/dealers. However, I kept saying to my husband - I want to make a deal with Thomson-MacConnell. Today, we purchased my dream car. Thank you Brandon & Thomson MacConell.
I stopped in to have a replacement part put on my windshield by my excellent tech Bruce Davis today and here is the text I sent to my wife:

“I’m so impressed with my dealership. The owner has not (to my knowledge) let anyone go. It’s compliant with all the social distancing rules. They’ve adjusted things. It’s so clean and smells like good disinfectants and bleach. All of the staff are constantly wiping things down every few minutes. Very impressive.”

We just purchased our 5th Cadillac from Brandon Ozier at Thomson - McConnell yesterday 5/29/19. I cannot say enough great things about Brandon or sing his praise enough. He has always went over and above to make
things work for us. I surely hope the owners know what a great asset Brandon is to the Dealership. No doubt that we will be back when it is time to trade again. They also have a great Service Advisor that we always ask for every time we have returned for service. His name is Martin, he also goes over and beyond to make sure we are happy by explaining everything in great detail to us on the service side. If you are considering a Cadillac I highly recommend Thomson McConnell and also Brandon Ozier for your Sales Consultant. Also for service ask for Martin Willwerth. I guarantee you that you wont go wrong with either one and the Customer Service they give is outstanding . Thomson McConnell in my opinion is the number one Cadillac Dealership in the Tri-State area.
I also want to mention while working on the deal with Brandon I noticed on his desk that he has been the number one Sales Consultant for the past 5 years.
Like I said if your considering a Cadillac give this team a try. You wont be disappointed.
I’ve worked for Thomson MacConnell for 16 years plus and I’m a short timer compared to most. In that time I’ve learned the most important part of service is taking care of the customer the way you would like to be taken care of yourself.

The MacConnell brothers have always supported doing what’s right for the customer, and maybe not always what’s right for the dealership. Chris, Dan, and Tim which I consider my mentors, bosses, and close friends, have always said to me “just take care of our customers, they’re family”. That’s a different outlook than most dealerships. Our customers are not just a number, they are people with lives and dreams, who appreciate fine automobiles, and we get to know by name and desires.This is truly a family owned dealership where you will be remembered each time you enter.

No one’s a stranger at this dealership.The owners actually think about their employees when making company decisions. When my son was 3, he had a medical issue. The MacConnells decided to have our company insurance re-written to cover his medical needs. That’s the kind of people they are.

I”ve seen many faces returning to buy or lease again and again, this is a testament to the MacConnell’s commitment to taking care of people, a practice that is unseen in today’s world of business. I’m proud to say I work for “a customer comes first” dealership.

I’ve told quite of few of my customers that I lost my dad this year. He’s had, and still does have, a business that I’ve been involved with most my life that’s taking more and more of my time. I’ve decided to move on to take care of my dad’s business full-time and watch over my mom in the years to come. I’ll miss working for the MacConnells, whom are great caring people. Also Donna Griffin whom is both as beautiful inside as she is outside .
