You will work with an instructor, as a team, and on your own while learning how to properly perform complete CDL pre-trip inspections. This hands-on approach helps you build confidence and understanding through guided instruction, teamwork, and independent practice.

Throughout your training, instructors will teach you how to identify and explain the major components of the truck and trailer while understanding why each part is important for safety and operation. You will practice your pre-trip inspection every day to improve accuracy, consistency, and confidence in preparation for your final CDL test.

Through repetition and real-world training, you will become familiar with checking tires, brakes, lights, suspension components, engine parts, coupling systems, and other critical equipment. Daily practice helps prepare you not only to pass your state exam, but also for the responsibilities you will face on the road as a professional commercial driver. Developing strong inspection habits early is an important part of staying safe, preventing breakdowns, and operating your vehicle with confidence throughout your career.
