So, I got a call today from a former student about the coming storm and driving in it. The good news is that he will be with another driver that has been there, done that. I have known that other driver, for, give or take 35 years. He is more than capable. He will keep you out of trouble. It will be fine, and at some point, you will have to drive in the snow. What I also told him, was that the person with the hands on the wheel, was the one responsible. If there is a problem, it will come down to your decision. If you choose to not go, I will stand with you to defend that position.

What a trip it has been...
10 Years ago today the school became mine.
I had run things for a while, but on this day 10 years ago it became mine.
I feel like we have done it right, because students keep coming.
We have had ups and we have had downs, but the only constant has been that we do it the best! I have the best people beside me to make that happen and I surely couldn't do it without them.
Thanks to Scott West, Steve Hearne, Archie Sheena Archie Gleasonand Joel Cobb. Without these great guys I would have never gotten where I am. They have done the real stuff while I tried to stumble through trying to keep the business running.
I could never have assembled a better crew that believed in what I was doing and made sure that we got it done. These are the ones that make it happen and make my life easier and I will be forever thankful that I have them.
A special shout out to my Dad that made it all possible and to my wife Carla West that has had put up with my bitching.

Not a new issue, I have posted this before, but here is a reminder.
If you are going to drive a truck, including training to drive, you will need to be able to pass a drug test to do that.
That test will include THC. It may be legal where you live, but it is not in the eyes of the DOT. If someone smarter than me can come up with a roadside test to see if someone is under the influence then maybe they will make it legal to be in your system, but until then you can't have it.
Please be aware that taking C*D products can build up in your system over time and you can get a positive for THC. The manufacturers can tell you it has no THC, but not being regulated for it, who knows. It could put you out of work with a lot of time and expense to get through the system to get back to work. You will have to have a return to duty test and followup tests for the next year, and by the way, they are observed, so someone gets to watch you p*e. You will still be subject to a random test four times a year like all drivers as well.

Gonna be off an running on Monday.
Don't get too excited yet, we have to tune up some that were in the system before we closed 8 weeks ago. More info to follow, but we are in hopes that the rest of you that want to get in can come over the next few weeks. We NEED DMV TO OPEN FOR US. WE ARE ESSENTIAL!

I should have started this a month ago.
Some of the companies around that have kept us all supplied with whatever it is we thought we needed. I’ll have more to follow, cuz I’m not too busy and these people are still out doing it for th e rest of us.

Well, it looks like we are done for a while. We can't maintain six feet of space inside a truck.
It is probably best. If we don't give to virus a place to go then it dies where it is.
That doesn't make it easy. I know that the students we have are looking to get done and get to work and my guys that teach them want to work as well but I don't think we should take that chance.
On Friday I had probably paced 50 miles trying to figure it all out and I had decided to pull the plug before Governor Scott sent out the new directive.
I will be in getting the trucks and trailers worked on, cuz, really, I need something to do besides pacing up and down to see how I can take care of my guys and make ends meet and if I am there alone then I can maintain 6 ft. Who knows, maybe Tuesday will find me in a truck for someone delivering something for the effort because as a business owner I am on my own to keep it going. My guys will come to work, but they shouldn't.
I have the best crew and they will do what it takes and that is the part that makes this so hard. Thank you to Archie and Joel. I know it isn't easy for you either.

If you or your company needs drug testing, be sure to call ahead, as I may not be there when you try to get in the door.
