On that note, here's what is local to me. I've called, I've asked, I know these people personally. The prices are pretty close to each other so I did the homework and here's the prices. For local shops standard helmet, must have helmet to start with. Prices start at 300. Fully custom goes up. My price has been 250 and I order the helmet for you. Standard soft tail 3 tin set. Prices start at 1100. Baggers. 5g minimum. Trikes 5 to 7. Individual parts 300 min. Doesn't matter the size of the piece. 2 inch's to 2 foot. Which means 3 pieces 900 to 1100, if it's candy. 600 per piece which was asked on a helmet. They all said it starts at 600. These shops around Shelby within a 150 mile radius. Plus turn out time. 1 helmet about 1 month. A bagger 2-3 months. Crazy guys . And I'm a one man shop. My turn around time on a helmet once I get it. Max 10 days. Usually 3 to 4 days. Custom bagger within a month usually 2 to 3 weeks. 3 tin Softail set usually a week. And that's from bare bones, body work, primer sealer paint clear. And majority of the time it's got graphics, leafing, pin striping. Etc.

So I'm gonna lay it all out there. We have nothing to hide here. Received some text and some messages regarding my post...

So I'm gonna lay it all out there. We have nothing to hide here. Received some text and some messages regarding my post earlier. I'm not closing down. I'm taking a step back for a week or so. For those of you that actually read my post I'm gonna explain. I work a 40 to 50hr job welding everyday. I come home and go to the shop. I have a beautiful wife and 3 daughters. 2 that are little and need daddy time along with my wife. Last week alone I spent over 100 hrs getting a bike finished. Back to back bikes. Some street glides I've charged around 2000 to do. Materials was close to 1300.. then 500 to cut and buff those. That's 200 I made to for 90 plus hours of work. Not worth it guys. That's where I'm at. Doesn't include the power, the cups, the sand paper. Shops around me charge a minimum of 5g.a bike I understand why. And that's what I should be charging because my bikes out beat them everyday at any show. Got tropheys to prove it. I'm do 1 off fully custom paint jobs. Airbrushing the whole nine yards. I just can't compete with the big shops. I'm faster, my quality is the same as them but my prices are not. Sadly in today's world I never wanted to say this but it's got to that point. That's what I have to charge. My jobs have always been for the people that want it but can't afford it. To have dreams turn into reality. I care about my customers. My time away from the kids, countless hours to achieve those colors, graphics, and finishes hasn't been billed. Things have to change or yes I will be walking away from painting. In the time off we will see where this future goes. I have NO investors. I have several sponsors. Like paint guns, paint, airbrushes, etc. I appreciate every single one of you guys. I know is disappointing but I know you'll understand. It's make or break it .

Good morning everyone. Kind of got some sad news. I got a few more things left to get finished up before this big bike show. After these last items. I'm gonna take a break for awhile. I'm not doing any full bikes unless the money is right. Which I have been fair and super cheap with everyone. Sadly I just can't do it. At the end of the day I really didn't make anything I just created one bad a$$ paint job for y'all and I just cant do it for nothing anymore. Supplies and materials have gone up but it's not worth me spending 100 plus hours if the fund isn't there. I'll do some helmets and of course help out when I can but this guy is going to take a week or so off after all these are finished.

8 bikes in 6 weeks. I know ppl be sweating and some a little worried about getting done on time but you have to understand it's a process. I try my best to book accordly. Weather is unpredictable, as well as I do 1 at a time. Won't mention names but when 3 shows up and I only have 1 scheduled. You gotta wait buddy. Person scheduled gets in the booth first.

Alot has been happening and I'm going to start off by saying that I've recently spoken to 6 other custom painters in all different states and they all work pretty much the same way. They have guidelines and they make them known. Alot of them I agree with, others I didn't until they explained them. So I just want to share with you Brush Hours new guidelines that are in affect as of today.

1. If your piece, part, helmet, whatever it is, has been spray painted previously. We will not touch it. It's a automatic no.

2 if you have selected a candy color. And the part/parts have been cleared and you want to add or change anything about it/them. There will be a fee for or what a has already been done, and the clock resets back to zero until the part is finished. What that means is sanding everything back down and restarting the whole process and it will be noted that your part is probably not going to match now, and you will certainly be aware. We will also be adding signed paperwork from the start making it noted about these possibilities. It can ultimately ruin the part. You may have to replace it. You may have to repaint every item, you may have to replace every part. So when it's set in stone it's set in stone from the beginning before we even start.

3 If you want a exact piece without giving me a bit of free roam I am not the guy you want or need.

4. I do not do sketches. I do not make visual effects to give you a idea. If you ou find something off the Internet and want exactly that then I am not your guy. I can make it look similar but I do not recreate others work. Find out who painted that piece and take it to them.

5. Artwork pieces are charged by the hour, plus materials. I can't give you a exact time frame on how long it will take me. But I can assure you that I am fair on my time and it will be recorded.

6. I do not and will not do devils. I will not paint anything that goes against my morals or my religion.

7. Please do not drop something off and expect it the next day! It will not happen.

8. If you ship, you are responsible to the pay shipping to me and for the item to be returned to you..

9. This one goes for shops. If you want graphics done, I charge by the day. Whatever item , may it be truck, car, bike etc it must be ready for me when I arrive. I'm not bagging, sanding, back taping etc. Clear coat imusy be done by the shop. I am there to do graphics and graphics only..

10. I am not a finisher. I have a professional detailer that works with us whom we schedule to come once the parts are ready for him. He charges by the job. His prices are a ball park figures that I give each customer. If he has to come back out because you added parts after he is done it is on you to pay him. If it's something we have done or he himself that is on us.

I just want everyone to be fully aware of this right from the start. There's nothing hidden about us. It's laid out right here and honestly nothing has changed. I get asked a lot of these questions so maybe this helps those and answers any questions that you may have. If you do have questions about any of this please feel free to still ask. Thank you

I know it's different from most shops, but we are different. Everyone has a skill too. Trade work for work too. If you do concrete work and need a paint job let me know.. If you got a Morton building or own a carport company and want some work let me know.. One hand always washes the other.
