FROM THE PRD DEPARTMENT OF MOTORSPORT BASED TRAUMA:
A sports psychologist has opened Australia's first dedicated Motorsport Trauma Department after warning that thousands of otherwise functional adults are still carrying unresolved emotional damage from controversial racing incidents stretching back more than 20 years.

The breakthrough came after noticing a growing number of patients whose blood pressure remained perfectly normal until someone casually mentioned the phrases "Abu Dhabi 2021", "Bathurst 2019", or "Newcastle 2017”

"Some people bottle up childhood trauma," he explained.
"Others have spent five years mentally replaying Abu Dhabi 2021, insisting they're over it while somehow remembering every lap and radio message by heart."

The clinic says it has also seen an influx of Australian patients who become visibly distressed whenever the 2019 Bathurst 1000 is mentioned, with many still able to recite every controversial call, safety car deployment and stewarding decision despite claiming they "don't even think about it anymore."

Other long term sufferers reportedly include Formula 1 fans still arguing over infamous championship deciding moments, Supercars supporters convinced the officials robbed their favourite driver, and NASCAR fans who have somehow kept decade old forum arguments alive through three different social media platforms.

Doctors say common symptoms include elevated heart rate after hearing the phrase "let them race," involuntary shouting at replay footage, and the compulsive need to comment, "I'm still not over it," beneath any motorsport highlight uploaded to Facebook.

At the time of publication, the clinic had temporarily suspended new appointments after the waiting room erupted into its seventh heated debate of the morning over whether Abu Dhabi 2021 or Bathurst 2019 caused the most long lasting psychological damage to couch bound motorsport fans.

FROM THE PRD DEPARTMENT OF MOTORSPORT BASED CHILDRENS EDUCATION:

Parents have welcomed Pixar's latest commitment to educational storytelling after the studio confirmed an Andrea Moda Formula One toy will appear in the latest Toy Story film to provide younger audiences with an early lesson in the importance of basic competence.

The tiny black and white Formula One car is expected to spend much of the film sitting motionless under Andy's bed while the other toys gently explain that confidence, ambition and a lacklustre engineering don't automatically qualify someone for the world's highest level of motorsport.

Insiders to Pixar say the character fills an important gap in the franchise.
"Every child grows up believing they can be anything," said one producer.

"We just thought it was time someone also explained that rocking up spectacularly underprepared and making everyone else's day worse isn't actually an inspiring life choice."

"It's important kids understand that not every racing car is Lightning McQueen," said one father while dusting off his old collection of obscure F1 die casts.

"Some exist purely to demonstrate the consequences of being completely and utterly s**t."

FROM THE PRD DEPARTMENT OF RUBBISH JOURNALISM:

A motorsport journalist scraping the bottom of the content barrel has today declared that a motorsport team moving its recycling bin from outside the factory to inside the gates is "an intriguing development worth monitoring."

With no driver drama, technical directives or contract sagas to keep the content mill turning, the reporter instead devoted 900 words to the strategic decision to relocate the yellow lidded bin in a bid to stop rats helping themselves to empty soft drink cans and tuna tins.

"It's definitely significant," explained the journalist, zooming in on grainy Google Street View screenshots to compare the bin's previous location with its new home roughly 12 metres away.

"There are questions that need answering. Was this a facilities management decision? A cost-saving measure? Could this indicate an internal restructure? We simply don't know."

Sources within the team confirmed the move was prompted by "too many rats getting into it," before returning to work and wondering why anyone had called.

The article concluded by suggesting rival teams would be "watching closely" to see whether bringing the recycling bin indoors sparks an arms race in waste management ahead of next season.

WTF actually is Supercars parity... and why has everyone been arguing about it for more than 30 years?

From rulers and kitchen scissors to wind tunnels, torque sensors and AI, this is the complete history of how Australian motorsport has tried to make Ford, Holden and now Toyota race on equal terms.

Following the absolute midfield chaos of last weekend's Townsville 500, Blanchard Racing Team has reportedly overhauled Aaron Cameron's preparation by replacing simulator sessions with Melbourne's peak hour West Gate commute.

The moustached driver was today spotted spending two hours attempting to merge between a concrete truck and a Ranger with a "NO GAPS" bumper sticker, in what the team described as "the closest thing you'll get to Turn 2 after a race start."

After spending the weekend trading paint, dodging ambitious divebombs and wondering how five cars can fit into three lanes, BRT engineers believe the daily crawl over the West Gate offers more relevant race preparation than any test day.

"We needed Aaron exposed to unpredictable moves, zero spatial awareness and people who firmly believe every gap belongs to them, much like the current midfield of supercars drivers" explained a team spokesperson. "The West Gate at 5pm ticks every box."

An insider close to the team stated "In Townsville we thought the midfield was aggressive," he said while watching a HiLux force its way across four lanes to make the Millers Road exit. "After this, door to door at 240km/h actually feels pretty civil."

At publication time, Cameron had reportedly completed his most valuable training exercise yet by remaining calm after watching someone skip the entire queue before squeezing in at the very last second.

FROM THE PRD DEPARTMENT OF PAJERO PROPAGANDA:

The motorsport world has been left stunned after the legendary PRD Pajero secured a win at Townsville, proving that decades of Japanese engineering knowledge may have been hiding in plain sight.

While Supercars teams have spent millions chasing marginal gains through advanced aerodynamics, telemetry and suspension development, the PRD Pajero arrived with a simpler philosophy:
start every time, survive anything and never complain.

"The pace has always been there," said one engineer.
"We just had to stop judging it as a family 4WD and start respecting it as a weapon."

The Pajero's performance has been attributed to its race proven characteristics, including legendary reliability, commanding driving position and the ability to carry everything required for a weekend away while still setting competitive lap times.

The vehicle's undefeated Supercars record remains untouched, with analysts noting the PRD Pajero has never recorded a loss in championship competition.

Critics have questioned this claim due to the vehicle never actually competing in a Supercars event.
However, supporters were quick to respond:
"Exactly. Undefeated."

At publishing time, several teams were reportedly studying the PRD Pajero's setup.

FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF FRIDAY KNOCK OFF:

Australian V8 Supercars Fans have reportedly discovered urgent appointments, flexible work arrangements and long forgotten annual leave balances ahead of this afternoon's Townsville race.

Australian workplaces have once again been blindsided by a drop in Friday afternoon productivity, with motorsport fans across the country finding increasingly creative ways to be sitting in front of a television before the lights go out in Townsville.

From hastily scheduled "client meetings" to suspiciously convenient dentist appointments, office workers have spent the week quietly engineering an early departure to ensure they don't miss the inaugural Friday Supercars sprint.

"I'm just heading out to inspect a job," explained one Brisbane sales representative while carrying nothing but a six pack of beer.

"My boss doesn't even know I work in IT."

Human Resources departments have confirmed an unusual spike in work-from-home requests, with many employees claiming they are "far more productive in the afternoon" despite remaining offline between 3:55pm and approximately 5:15pm.

Meanwhile, tradies around the country have reportedly rediscovered the age old Australian tradition of declaring, "Yeah, that'll do," shortly before loading the ute and heading for the nearest pub with a television.

"I've done enough for one week," said a concreter while removing his high vis at 2:48pm.

"The slab's not going anywhere."

Politicians have also welcomed the scheduling change, with one unnamed Senator claiming “I dont even turn up half the time, might as well use this excuse”

Employers, however, remain optimistic that Australia's workforce will return to normal levels of productivity shortly after the chequered flag, due to the time certain finish.

At publishing time, one Melbourne accountant had successfully turned a routine 3pm Teams meeting into a two hour "site visit" despite never having left the CBD.

FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF LOUNGE MENU MUSIC:

Gran Turismo players have called on motorsport governing bodies to formally recognise Licence Test completion as equivalent to "at least a couple of seasons in Formula Ford."

The campaign follows decades of players being forced to explain that achieving all golds in the licence tests required significantly more talent than "just playing a game."

Supporters argue they have already demonstrated proficiency in emergency braking, weight transfer, racing lines and repeating the same corner 400 consecutive times without speaking to another human being.

"Ive got all gold licences on GT4, Does Max Verstappen have that? I thought not," one applicant explained.

The FIA has reportedly acknowledged the proposal before requesting applicants demonstrate their skills somewhere other than Trial Mountain.

FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF BANANA
Dick Johnson Racing has sent shockwaves through the motorsport world after announcing a historic collaboration with the Minions to create the world's first official Dick Minion.

The limited-edition character is understood to combine the racing heritage of one of Australia's most iconic teams with the chaotic energy of cinema's most recognisable yellow workforce.

"We are extremely proud of Dick Minion," the team said.
"We think Dick Minion will appeal to all ages, young and old."

Marketing executives confirmed the name had been carefully reviewed by multiple departments before being approved, with nobody reportedly brave enough to be the person who raised concerns.

At the time of publication, Dick Johnson Racing insisted there was no hidden joke behind the name and that fans should focus solely on Dick Minion's quality, heritage and performance.
The team declined to comment on whether Dick Minion would be available in a larger size.
