Three Stone Hearth Three Stone Hearth offers weekly seasonal menus of ready-to-eat nutrient dense prepared foods, inspired by culinary traditions from around the world.

Bone Broth, Fermented Foods, Local Produce, Artisanal Beverages -- real foods, no fads! Three Stone Hearth is a worker owned, cooperative kitchen and education center. We offer a seasonal menu of ready-to-eat nutrient-dense foods, inspired by culinary traditions from around the world. You can shop our store or order from our website for pickup or Bay Area delivery (www.threestonehearth.com). We also sell a variety of food, health and wellness products aligned with Three Stone Hearths' ethics. Our mission as a business is to 'nourish resilience' within the community of our customers, staff and food suppliers. We aim to provide a business model which can inclusively support and benefit people, animals and the environment. We source all of our produce, meats and products from as local and high quality organic sources as possible. Most of our foods are sold in returnable glass mason jars, in order to keep our environmental impact as low as possible. We create dishes for many alternative and healing diets including - GAPS, Paleo, SCD, auto-immune, gluten free, etc. The foundation of our food lies in the historic discoveries of Dr. Weston. A Price, who studied communities around the globe in the 1930s who were still living their traditional ways. He discovered a world of nutrient-dense foods supporting superior health, in comparison to those eating modern processed diets. Our foods tie into his discoveries through our reliance on simple ingredients and traditional "food processing" methods that are proven to aid digestion and maximize nutrient availability, such as sprouting, slow-cooking, brining and fermentation. Keeping alive the cultural wisdom which has nourished humans throughout history. Drop by our store and see what we're all about!

Sometimes a dish falls off our radar for one reason or another, until someone says, Hey whatever happened to...

Our radar pinged recently for Locro, an Argentinian Beef stew we haven't offered since 2022. This is a perfect time to reintroduce it, as it features butternut squash and pumpkin seeds (which are very close to butternut squash seeds: in Australia and New Zealand, the squash is called "butternut pumpkin"). Of course, we sprout and then slowly dehydrate our seeds, to get that roasty nutty flavor while preserving their mighty nutrients.

The soup also features lovely butter beans from Iacopi Farm in Half Moon Bay, and heirloom posole (hominy) from Alma Semillera, along with regenerative grassfed beef slowly simmered in our beef bone broth. Locro is widely considered a national dish across South America—particularly in Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Chile, Paraguay, and Colombia.

Check out our complete weekly menu, plus our housemade sauerkrauts & kimchis, kombuchas and kefirs, snacks & treats, carefully curated groceries & pantry staples, supplements & superfoods, herbal products and body care. Order online for pickup and door-to-door delivery at https://threestonehearth.com. Or shop our store Wednesdays through Saturdays.

20 years is about more than a number.

It’s the farmers, growers, ranchers, and purveyors.

It’s the worker-owners and staff who have brought their knowledge and care into our kitchen.

It’s the traditional foodways that continue to inspire how we prepare food.

And most of all, it’s the customers and community who have made these 20 years possible.

This October, we’re celebrating all of it—and we hope you’ll join us.
🎉 Three anniversary events: October 17, 22 & 24

Whatever the weather, let us do the cooking for you.

If a week of hot foods doesn't float your boat, we have plenty of options for dishes you don't have to heat to eat:

Two Bean Zucchini Salad
Sesame Ginger Chicken Salad
Kale Caesar Salad — the real deal, with anchovies and true Parmigiano Reggiano
Tuscan White Bean Dip with Herbs and Lemon
Cilantro Scallion Pesto with Pepitas and Parmigiano
Chicken Liver Pate

And our two pureed veg soups are lovely hot, cold or room temperature: Creamy Carrot Ginger Soup, enriched with coconut milk, and Summer Squash Soup with Macadamia Nut Butter

If you have hydration in mind, bone broth is actually a great choice — have a half-cup in the morning before the heat rolls in. On the cooler side, our probiotic Beet Kvass hits the spot, with potassium from the beets and trace minerals from Celtic Sea Salt.

Check out our complete weekly menu, plus our housemade sauerkrauts & kimchis, kombuchas and kefirs, snacks & treats, carefully curated groceries & pantry staples, supplements & superfoods, herbal products and body care.
