Important update on Driver's License Expiration!!!

Note that the extension only applies to licenses that expire on or after July 1, 2025. Licenses that expired June 30 or earlier are still expired.

Update for NC drivers!

A new state law extends Class C driver licenses expiring on or after July 1, 2025 for up to 2 years for in-state driving. This moratorium is valid through Dec. 31, 2027 and applies only to Class C licenses for drivers operating in the state.

NCDMV advises customers to renew their licenses to ensure they remain valid for identification purposes.

Don't fall for the scam! We've all seen scam texts claiming to be NC DMV or NC Quick Pass. Delete and report the number as spam/junk!

Scam text messages are circulating nationwide claiming to be from the DMV and demanding payment before you face penalties. They are annoying and 100% fake.

Protect yourself from scams:
⏺️ Be cautious of unsolicited texts requesting payment or personal information.
⏺️ Verify any NCDMV-related inquiries through official channels.
⏺️ Report suspicious texts to your mobile carrier or the Federal Trade Commission at ftc.gov/complaint.
