Hidden in Monongahela National Forest, Olson Observation Tower offers some of the most incredible sunrise views in West Virginia.

With 133 steps to the top and panoramic views of Blackwater Canyon, this historic fire lookout is one of those hidden gems worth experiencing.

Water is a free natural resource. Somewhere along the way, we got used to paying for something the Earth has always provided.

So every few weeks, I hook up my 250-gallon tote, drive out to a natural spring, and fill it up. It’s one of my favorite routines. I get outside for a bit, enjoy the drive, and come home with fresh spring water.
Just remember not every spring is safe to drink.

Always make sure you’re collecting water from a tested public spring or another trusted source.

After spending two days here... we honestly think it has a strong case.

From the architecture and Riverwalk to the beaches, food, and skyline, this city completely surprised us.

One of the most underrated experiences in West Virginia 🚂

The Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad takes passengers through the remote Trough Canyon along the South Branch Potomac River, offering mountain views, bald eagle sightings, historic rail cars, an open-air observation car, and even onboard dining.

If you're looking for unique things to do in West Virginia or a scenic train ride that's unlike anything else in Appalachia, this one is worth adding to your bucket list.
