When an Austin summer turns up the heat, our renovated pool is where the day gets good. This is what a resort address feels like: a cool morning swim before work, an easy afternoon float, and neighbors who actually know your name.

No long drive, no crowded hotel pool, just your own place to cool off ten minutes from downtown. Come see why so many make Oak Forest home. To apply, give us a call at (512) 926-8984!

One of the things long-term RVers get really good at is keeping meals simple without losing the experience of sitting down together.

A lot of people lean into one-pan or foil meals, grilled chicken and veggies, tacos, or even breakfast-for-dinner. Things that don’t require a full kitchen setup and don’t leave you with a sink full of dishes after.

Snacks tend to stay simple too, cut fruit, chips and dips, sandwiches you can throw together quickly. It’s less about complicated meals and more about making something that works for everyone without taking up your whole evening.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not really about what’s on the plate, it’s about who you’re sharing it with.

If you’re RVing through Austin in the spring and heading into summer, a few small habits can make your days a lot easier.

Mornings tend to be the best time to get things done, whether that’s heading out to explore or just enjoying a slow start with coffee outside. By midday, the heat picks up, so having a plan to cool off (like the pool or shaded areas) makes a big difference.

Keeping your RV ventilated, using reflective shades, and staying on top of water levels helps everything run smoothly. And honestly, some of the best moments happen in the evenings, when things cool down, people step outside, and the day winds down naturally.

It’s less about doing everything right, and more about finding a rhythm that works for you.

The Circuit of the Americas is one of the biggest reasons people travel to this area, and once you go, it makes sense why.

In April and early May, it’s filled with activity, from weekly Bike Nights that bring people together for riding, food, and music, to major events like the GT World Texas races and live concerts like Kid Cudi.

It’s not just about motorsports, it’s about the energy. People come out to spend the evening, walk the grounds, listen to music, and just be part of something happening.

And the best part is, it’s all just a short drive from Oak Forest.

One of the things guests appreciate most about Oak Forest is how easy it is to get where you want to go, without feeling like you’re stuck in the middle of it all.

With quick access to HWY 183 and SH 130, you’re about 10 minutes from Downtown Austin, 15 minutes from Lady Bird Lake, and around 20 minutes from The Domain.

It makes it simple to spend your day exploring, whether that’s live music, food, shopping, or being out on the water, and then come back to a place that feels a little more grounded at the end of it all.

That balance is what makes staying here feel easy.

If you’re heading into Austin for a shopping day, there are a few places locals and visitors both keep coming back to.

The Domain & Domain NORTHSIDE are some of the most popular, filled with everything from well-known brands to restaurants and places to spend the afternoon.

South Congress is a completely different feel, local shops, vintage finds, and spots where you’ll come across things you didn’t even know you were looking for.

It’s one of those cities where shopping feels less like a task and more like part of the experience.

One of the things people appreciate most about Oak Forest is where it’s located.

You’re close enough to Austin to enjoy everything it has to offer, downtown, COTA, the rodeo grounds, live music, restaurants, but just far enough removed to avoid the parts that can make the city feel overwhelming.

No sitting in constant traffic, no circling for parking, no feeling like you’re in the middle of the rush all the time.

Instead, you can head into the city when you want to, and come back to a place that feels more relaxed, more open, and easier to settle into.

It’s that balance that makes a big difference during your stay.
