A customer came to us with a critical component after the original manufacturer went out of business. As an AS9100 certified manufacturer with design capabilities, our team reverse engineered the part, created the prints & produced a replacement that keeps their equipment running.

Happy 4th of July Weekend!

This milestone represents months of hard work, preparation, and commitment from our entire team as we continue to strengthen our quality systems and expand our support of the aerospace industry.

AS9100D is the internationally recognized quality management standard for aerospace manufacturers and suppliers, building upon the foundation of our ISO 9001:2015 certification, which we have maintained for the past six years.

Achieving AS9100D certification reflects our ongoing investment in quality, process control, continuous improvement, design, and delivering precision machined components that meet the demanding requirements of the aerospace industry.

Getting the band back together 🤩

Matt, Dylan & Scott all worked with us at our very first shop, and now we’re fortunate enough to have the crew back together at Smith Metal. These guys are outstanding Machinists, problem solvers, and teammates who take pride in their craft every day.

This week marks Matt’s first week at Smith Metal, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome him to the team. Having the opportunity to work alongside talented people you trust and respect is one of the best parts of growing a business.
