Did you know students at the Lapeer County Education and Technology Center have TWO Early Middle College (EMC) options available to them?

Many families are familiar with the traditional EMC model, but may not realize we also offer the CTE Blend Early Middle College model — a unique opportunity that allows students to attend a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program while simultaneously earning college credit.

Through the Blend EMC model, students can:
• Attend a state-approved CTE program
• Earn articulated college credit through their CTE coursework
• Continue earning additional college credits through EMC
• Participate in a seminar course designed to provide additional support while attending college
• Learn the study skills, organization, communication, and time management needed to be successful in college
• Potentially save families thousands in tuition and textbook costs
• Graduate with both valuable career skills and college credits already completed

The results from our 2025–2026 CTE Blend EMC completers speak for themselves:

⭐ 5 students completed the CTE Blend EMC model
⭐ Those students earned a combined 222 college credits over 3 years
⭐ 4 of the 5 students participated in the deferred entry model and earned 173 of those credits
⭐ Those same 4 students earned an ADDITIONAL 42 college credits from Baker College because of their CTE program participation

The financial savings to families was incredible:
💰 Approximate savings in tuition and basic fees: $121,000+
💰 Approximate savings in books: $8,800+
💰 Total estimated savings to families: $129,785

Students are not only graduating with experience and career-ready skills — they are getting a head start on college and reducing future student debt at the same time.

See that BIG smile on Lincoln’s face? 😁🚲 It’s because he just won a brand new Minecraft bike from the LEAF360! Wellness Fair drawing! 🎉

Watching Lincoln light up when he saw his new bike was almost as exciting as watching his LEAF deposits grow! 💚💰 We love seeing kids build healthy savings habits while having fun along the way.

Way to go, Lincoln! 👏

Today is a historic day for SC4 and Saginaw Valley State University.

April 9, 2026 marks the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between SC4 and SVSU, creating clear, intentional pathways for students to continue their higher‑education journey.

Building on previous direct‑admit initiatives with local high schools, SC4 is taking the next step forward. We’ve taken the guesswork out of the question, “What’s next after SC4?” Students now have a seamless RN‑to‑BSN pathway with SVSU, along with a direct‑admission pathway for students in good academic standing.

With plans to add even more bachelors and masters programs, we’re excited about what the future holds. Pathways are the future of education, and we’re proud to provide our students with clear, affordable routes to achieving an exceptional education—right here at St. Clair County Community College.
