A bit more detail on what happened. Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles

The BMV is continuing to bring systems and terminals back online following the impact from the global Microsoft and CrowdStrike outage. BMV online services are now available and customers may be able to complete many BMV transactions online by visiting https://bmvonline.dps.ohio.gov. All previously scheduled Driver Exam appointments will be processed as scheduled. BMV Deputy Registrar offices throughout Ohio will continue to offer significantly limited transactions while we work to recover all of the impacted terminals. Customer patience and flexibility is key as we continue to bring the systems online.

Final Update: We are back to being fully operational!

Update #3: As of Monday, July 22nd, our title offices are once again able to process titles and issue receipts. They will be operating at limited capacity due to the limited number of computers that have been restored to functionality, so we ask for your patience as we work with the State of Ohio to get back to full operating capacity.

Update #2: Our title offices will be closed Saturday, July 20th. We will reassess the situation on Monday and hope to be fully operational by then.

Update: As of 3:30pm Friday, we are still unable to process titles or issue receipts and we do not have an estimate for when the system will be restored. If you plan on visiting our Northfield or Main Title locations tomorrow, please contact 330-630-7200 beforehand to ensure that we will be able to assist you.

Due to the worldwide Microsoft outage that occurred overnight, the system that we use to issue titles and receipts at our 3 Title offices is not currently operational.
Our offices are open for all other services. We apologize for any inconvience and we will let you know when we are up and running again!
