In an effort to compete in the surrounding market for this weekends races at Electric City Speedway and Caney Valley Speedway, REVIVAL has put some bonus money throughout the purse!

Since the beginning of the Nutrien Ag Solutions REVIVAL Super Dirt Series Presented By Sunoco, we have taken pride in building purses that reward drivers throughout the field and avoid large payout drop-offs.

At REVIVAL, we believe every car in the pit area matters, not just the one standing in victory lane. Drivers invest countless hours, miles, and dollars to compete, and our goal has always been to create a purse structure that gives teams opportunities to earn throughout the field.

To my fellow drone pilots around KC:

With the Vice President coming into town Monday May 18th, a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) will be in effect around portions of KC and the Northland.

As remote pilots, this is one of those situations where it’s extremely important to understand that this is not your typical “be careful” advisory. This is federally enforced restricted airspace tied to national defense.

Here’s the breakdown:

• The larger circle around KCI/Platte County goes active starting at 10:00 AM local time
• The downtown/Kansas City area restriction activates around noon
• Additional restrictions/reactivations happen throughout the day as movement schedules change
• These TFRs extend from the surface up to 4,999 feet AGL
• Remote controlled aircraft operations are specifically prohibited unless you are operating under approved government/public safety exemptions

In simple terms:
If you are flying recreationally or commercially anywhere inside those circles during the active windows, don’t. Even if your drone can physically take off, that does NOT mean you are authorized to fly there.

A lot of newer pilots rely solely on DJI warnings or app restrictions, but ultimately it is the pilot’s responsibility to check NOTAMs and TFRs before every flight. Apps can lag behind or fail to fully explain the restriction.

The FAA language on this particular TFR is also unusually aggressive. It specifically mentions:
• possible interception
• detainment/interviews by law enforcement
• certificate action/civil penalties
• criminal charges
• and in extreme cases, use of force against airborne aircraft deemed security threats

That’s not written to scare people — that’s how seriously these VIP TFRs are treated.

If you have client shoots scheduled Monday near downtown KC, KCI, Platte City, Riverside, North KC, etc., I’d strongly recommend rescheduling now before you waste time driving out.

Stay safe, stay legal, and always check your airspace before launch.
