Don’t be THAT GUY and ruin it for the rest of us.

🚨 DRONE PILOT PSA — KANSAS CITY AREA, MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14 🚨

On this episode of “Dont be That Guy”🤡

Vice President JD Vance will be visiting the KC metro tomorrow, causing Temporary Flight Restriction covering two separate areas near MCI and Olathe.

📍 KCI area: 10:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. and 3:00–4:45 p.m.
📍 Olathe area: 12:30–3:00 p.m.

These restrictions include ALL drone operations, recreational AND commercial. A Part 107, LAANC authorization or DJI unlock does not mean you can fly inside a VIP TFR. Federal agencies can seize or destroy a drone considered a security threat, and pilots may face fines or criminal penalties. If you have drone operations on the books in those areas you’ll have to reschedule.

Please share this with other local pilots. Fly safe, check TFRs directly from the FAA before every flight, don’t rely on Aloft or other apps, and if there is any doubt—do not launch.
