This client chose the 3 year ceramic coating to help protect and for ease of cleaning. A complete wash and decontamination I polished the car to get some swirls out and get to a clean clear coat to ensure the proper bonding.

The vinyl decals were also coated to give them protection from water spots and UV damage.

Here’s another job from last week!

This 2022 Subaru was the owner’s first car, and like most of us with our first vehicle, it picked up a few battle scars along the way. A few bumps and scrapes, encounters with tree branches, and even some Christmas lights taped to the car for a little holiday celebration all left their mark.

Unfortunately, the tape adhesive did a number on the clear coat, and there were also areas where tree sap had been left on the paint for too long.

Going into this job, we knew there was damage that was beyond what detailing or paint correction could completely fix. And with a now 20 year-old behind the wheel of this car, there’s always the possibility it may pick up a few more scars along the way. So the goal wasn’t perfection—it was to make a major improvement while preserving the clear coat.

And we definitely accomplished that.

I was able to remove a large amount of the scratching and completely correct the clear-coat damage caused by the tape adhesive. Some areas required sanding, compounding, and polishing to get the results I was looking for.

Jobs like this are where knowing when to keep pushing and when to stop becomes important. You only have so much clear coat to work with, and sacrificing too much of it just to chase one last defect isn’t worth it.

The goal is always to achieve the best correction possible without compromising the long-term integrity of the paint.

The difference on this Subaru was night and day.

Earlier this week I completed a full interior and exterior detail on this Durango R/T.

This vehicle had some damage from this past winter during snow removal. Something used to clear the snow left several deep scratches along the ridges and contours of the hood.

These areas can be challenging to correct. The peaks and edges of body lines can have thinner paint to begin with, and they also tend to take more damage when something is dragged across them. That means there’s less clear coat available to safely work with.

This is where paint depth measurements, patience, and knowing when to stop become important.

Of course, I wanted to get to 100% defect removal, but with deep scratches—especially along these ridges—that isn’t always the safest or most realistic goal. I was able to make a dramatic improvement, but eventually reached the point where continuing to chase the remaining scratches would mean removing more clear coat than I was comfortable with.

Preserving the clear coat and the long-term integrity of the paint is more important than chasing 100% correction.

We also took care of several other blemishes along the way, and overall this Durango came out looking great.

A quick maintenance wash on this ceramic-coated car!

We completed our 3-year ceramic coating on this car a few weeks ago, including coating the wheels, and the results are amazing. The water absolutely flies off the paint.

For this maintenance wash, the entire car was washed and dried, and the wheels and tires were cleaned and treated — in about half the time it would take on an uncoated vehicle.

That’s one of the biggest benefits of a quality ceramic coating. It’s not just about the gloss and protection. It makes keeping your vehicle clean faster and easier.

I took some time off last months but im back in full swing this month. I am booking up quickly again so if you’re looking to get some work done reach out now to get on the schedule.

I recently had a few conversations about washing cars and trucks at home.
