Belt Guard Type 2 – Motori Fiat 2.0 benzina 20V
La Belt Guard Type 2 MyTechPerformance è compatibile con tutti i motori Fiat 2.0 benzina 20V ed è stata sviluppata per offrire una protezione efficace contro uno dei problemi più pericolosi per questi propulsori: lo spostamento o la rottura della cinghia servizi, che potrebbe raggiungere la distribuzione e provocare gravi danni al motore.
A differenza della Type 1, che lascia libera la cinghia servizi di uscire dalla propria traiettoria proteggendo però la distribuzione, la Type 2 svolge anche una funzione di contenimento: se la cinghia tende a spostarsi o a saltare, la Belt Guard la mantiene nella propria sede.
Per questo motivo la Type 2 è la soluzione più indicata per chi desidera utilizzare l’auto senza lo stress di controllare continuamente il comportamento della cinghia. È inoltre un’alternativa più accessibile rispetto alla Type 1, pur garantendo un elevato livello di protezione.
Installazione
La Belt Guard Type 2 può essere installata in due configurazioni:
* Con il carter copridistribuzione originale, apportando le modifiche mostrate nelle nostre istruzioni
* Con il carter copridistribuzione riprogettato MyTechPerformance, realizzato anch’esso in nylon rinforzato con fibra di carbonio

Type 1 o Type 2?
La Type 1, realizzata in acciaio inox, rappresenta la soluzione più tecnica: non interferisce con la traiettoria della cinghia. Se la cinghia presenta un problema, può uscire dalla propria sede, mentre la Belt Guard impedisce che raggiunga la distribuzione.
La Type 2, invece, oltre a proteggere la distribuzione, contiene la cinghia e la aiuta a rimanere al proprio posto qualora tentasse di spostarsi. È quindi la scelta ideale per chi cerca una soluzione più accessibile e desidera la massima tranquillità durante l’utilizzo dell’auto.
La Belt Guard costituisce una protezione aggiuntiva e non sostituisce la manutenzione periodica della cinghia servizi, dei tenditori, delle pulegge e la verifica del loro corretto allineamento.
Belt Guard Type 2 – Fiat 2.0 20V Petrol Engines
The MyTechPerformance Belt Guard Type 2 is compatible with all Fiat 2.0 20V petrol engines. It was developed to protect these engines against a well-known and potentially serious problem: the auxiliary belt moving out of position or breaking, reaching the timing-belt area and causing major engine damage.
Unlike the Type 1, which allows a faulty auxiliary belt to leave its path while preventing it from reaching the timing system, the Type 2 also acts as a belt retainer. If the auxiliary belt attempts to move sideways or jump off, the Belt Guard helps keep it in its correct position.
For this reason, the Type 2 is ideal for drivers who want to enjoy their car without constantly worrying about the auxiliary belt. It is also a more affordable solution than the Type 1 while still providing a high level of protection.
Installation
The Belt Guard Type 2 can be installed in two configurations:
* With the original timing-belt cover, after making the modifications shown in our instructions
* With the redesigned MyTechPerformance timing-belt cover, also manufactured from carbon-fibre-reinforced nylon

Type 1 or Type 2?
The stainless-steel Type 1 is the more technically focused solution because it does not interfere with the path of the auxiliary belt. If the belt or one of its related components develops a problem, the belt is free to leave its position, while the Belt Guard prevents it from reaching the timing system.
The Type 2, on the other hand, protects the timing system while also containing the auxiliary belt and helping it remain in place if it attempts to move sideways. It is therefore the ideal choice for anyone looking for a more affordable solution and greater peace of mind when driving the car.
The Belt Guard is an additional safety measure and does not replace regular inspection and maintenance of the auxiliary belt, tensioners, pulleys and their correct alignment.
