Metalshaping is a real pleasure. I made a plywood wooden buck then got the hand tools out. I built an English wheel a few years ago to help with shaping.
I had a couple of attempts at the knee recesses before I found a shape I liked.
The Monza cap and rear stop light is mocked up to give me the look I am after.
Lots of hours in the monocoque seat/gas tank combination. I shudder to think, but it is the ex*****on not the time spent that is important.
Happy to post more on the tank manufacture, materials, tools, welding etc. Just ask if interested.

The frame for the bike is from a 2004 Multistrada. A lot of the rear of the frame where the passenger seat support is was cut off with an angle grinder, and I did a lot of de-tabbing along the way to clean the frame up. I used Chrome-moly tubing and TIG welded the rear section and hoop.

The lower cut member needed heat to bend in line with the new frame rail angle

I would like to share my garage build of a Ducati custom. I am building as much as I can with the basic tools I have. The project has been going a little while.
> 2004 Ducati Multistrada frame
> 2012 Ducati Monster 1100 EVO motor
>2008 Monster 4V forks and swingarm

Have fabricated the monocoque tank and seat from 5052 1.6, 2.0 and 3.0mm aluminium sheet. The seat is mocked up till I get it covered.

I will do a full dry build and run the bike for a month on the street before a full tear down from paint, vapourblast and polish.

I have given the bike the name Moto-Tahi
