Should you get PPF on your car?
Depends what you’re trying to protect, and where.
Full panel PPF is expensive and usually worth it on a brand new, high-value vehicle. Strip PPF, like the leading edge you can see on the bonnet here, is a cheaper option that covers the areas that take the most stone chip damage.
We have found that with considerate driving, this isn’t typically needed.
It is not something we install, but we get asked about it a lot. For strips, we’d point you toward a specialist. But some things to keep in mind:
What will the unprotected area look like compared to the area under the PPF?
Will I have the money to replace this every 5-10 years?
Is it worth the risk of damaging the paint when it is removed.
Like all things, ceramic coating included, PPF has a life.
