Hey Team we have done our prize draws for our xmas hams thanks to all the lovely customers who have been in to see us over November and December. We had a Ham to give away in November and December drawn from customers who had services fobe in those months.
Sadly we have had to redraw the November Prize as the original winner is apparently overseas and despite our best efforts cant be contacted (Phillip I will sort something out for you on your return) and the Ham needs to go

Hey team just a quick update before some exciting news later today .
Lately we have been getting vehicles coming into the shop that people have been putting off servicing, sometimes to the detriment of their vehicle. Talking with others in the industry this is becoming more common as families struggle to keep ahead and put food on the table.
While it may be tempting to put off the cost of maintenance when times are tough, eventually any savings are lost to the cost of repairing the damage caused by lack of maintenance. Regular services keep the oil system free of sludge and damaging contaminants ensuring the oil keeps flowing freely .Also the normal inspection checks done during the service often pick up simple issues with the engine, brakes and suspension that can turn into expensive problems that take time to fix.
Check out the clogged oil filter below this vehicle was 11,000km overdue for a service the clean filter is the replacement part.

Every now and then, we get a vehicle comemin to us that has had a catastrophic engine failure.
Often we find that the damage has been ultimately caused by the servicing having been neglected ..... and this is a classic example of what we often find when we open the engine to see what needs to be repaired.
The thick black carbon sludge is old broken down engine oil and combustion byproducts that has built up over time and ultimately clogged up the oiling system to the point that it caused the engine to self destruct due to lack of lubrication.
Had the engine oil been changed regularly at reccomended intervals this engine would be clean and shiny inside and happily ticking over for many years to come, instead its heading to the scrap bin as it's not economic to repair.
Regular servicing is by far the best way keep your vehicle reliable and safe.

So Today I was privileged (and very proud) to be able to present Dani with her Certificate as a fully qualified light vehicle technician.
Dani has overcome so much to get to this point and it has been three and a half years of hard work and study at Big Daves Mechanical Services to achieve this Qualification after she completed her studied towards her qualification at UCOL all the while she has been juggling her full time career and being an amazing Mum to her Daughter.
Well done Dani all the team at Big Daves are proud of you
