Every year, Matariki gives us the opportunity to slow down and come together as one team.

It’s a time to reflect on the year that’s been, celebrate the people around us and look ahead with optimism, but it’s also about sharing and giving.

In true Action fashion, our team gets involved from the very beginning. Whether it’s heading out to gather fresh kaimoana, preparing dishes at home, or lending a hand in the kitchen, everyone plays a part in bringing the feast together.

This year was extra special as our incredible team shared food from their own cultures too. Alongside some Kiwi favourites, our tables were filled with flavours from South America, India and the Philippines, a celebration of the diversity that makes Action what it is. Different cultures. Different stories. One team.

What happens when great local businesses and great local charities team up? 🐾❤️

Together with Westpeak New Zealand, Pound Hounds Rescue NZ and the Rescued OpShop - The Pink House Cambridge, we’ve given surplus foam a second life by turning it into cosy dog beds for pups waiting to find their forever homes.

It’s a simple idea, but one that keeps quality materials out of landfill while making life a little more comfortable for dogs in need.

A huge thank you to the teams at Westpeak and Pound Hounds for helping make it happen. We love seeing our community come together to create something that makes a real difference. 🐶

There’s something pretty special about watching a project leave the factory and begin doing what it was built to do.

These two mobile breast screening units are now on the road, bringing essential healthcare services closer to communities across the region. A huge team effort went into bringing them to life, and we’re incredibly proud to see them start their journey.

Thanks to the team at TDM Transport for helping get them where they need to be. Safe travels, ladies. 💙

It’s been a busy one here at Action, with motorhome after motorhome leaving the factory.

From the workshop floor to the open road, every vehicle represents months of design, engineering, craftsmanship and teamwork. Soon they’ll be exploring New Zealand and beyond, creating unforgettable memories for the people who call them home.

There’s something pretty special about seeing a project like this roll out of the factory.💙

At Action Manufacturing, we build a lot of emergency service vehicles, and we’re proud of every single one. But every now and then, a build comes through that really hits home. This breast screening unit is one of those.

This vehicle is a place where early detection can make all the difference. A place that brings vital health services closer to communities. A place that, quite simply, can help save lives.

Knowing this unit will travel across Aotearoa, reaching people who might not otherwise have access, is something we don’t take lightly. It’s a reminder that what we design and build isn’t just about engineering, it’s about people.

Whether it’s supporting emergency services or helping deliver healthcare on the road, it all comes back to the same thing: looking after our people and contributing to a healthier New Zealand.

And that’s something we’re incredibly proud to be part of. 💙

A crisp, sunny day in late May set the scene for another planting session at the Fairfield Project 🌱

A couple of our team got stuck in, spending the morning putting in the mahi and adding to a project that’s steadily transforming this local gully into something pretty special.

Right in the heart of Fairfield, this urban biodiversity restoration effort is creating real, lasting impact for both the environment and the community.

Big thanks to the team who showed up, pitched in, and made it happen, awesome effort all round 💚

👑 If our team were crowned king or queen for the day…We took to the floor to ask the big question: what would you do with absolute power?

The results? Let’s just say… it’s probably for the best none of us are making national decisions anytime soon 😅
We’re talking:
✨ Unlimited snacks (obviously)
✨ Mandatory days off
✨ Questionable new “policies” we’re pretty sure HR would not approve
✨ And a few ideas that escalated… quickly

Safe to say, we’ll stick to our day jobs for now 😂

Our team had an incredible time sharing their own journeys - from starting out as apprentices to where they’re heading next with their qualifications 🚀 It’s always inspiring to see those lightbulb moments when people realise just how many pathways are possible!

At Action, we’re all about growth. Whether you’re just starting out or building your career, apprenticeships are a huge part of how we support our people to learn, develop, and thrive 💪
