We didn’t start The Trailer Shop because it seemed like a good business idea.

We started it because we’re passionate boaties too. I’ve done this my whole life and I know exactly what a good trailer should look like.

Weekends on the water, early mornings at the ramp, the kind of person who notices when a trailer is built wrong and can’t help tinkering to get things right.

That was me long before there was a business, a ute with a logo on it, or a workshop full of builds waiting to go out the door.

It’s what makes the difference when you come in. You’re not talking to someone who just sells trailers. You’re talking to someone who uses them, lives with them, and genuinely cares how they perform out there. This is just us doing what we’ve always done!

A lot of people don’t realise we build and service jet ski trailers, but it’s one of our favorite things to do. Whether you need a new trailer built specifically for your ski, or your current one needs a look over before summer, we can help.

We know getting trailer work done isn’t always straightforward, so we try to make the whole process as easy as possible from the first call to picking it up. Good to know it comes through.

Loading a boat solo at the ramp is one of those things that looks easy until you’re doing it in a crosswind with a queue of people watching.

Guide poles change that. They give you a reference point, take the guesswork out of lining up, and mean you’re not relying on perfect conditions or a helpful stranger to get it right every time.

This setup has a few other things worth talking about too.

Full roller system so the hull sits right and loading is smooth. Alloy rims because they can handle the salt and the k’s.

Galvanised frame throughout because if you’re putting this near salt water regularly, you want a frame that’s built to last.

Spare tyre mounted on the trailer because if something goes wrong on the road, you’re sorted.

This one was a pretty specific brief.

A custom 3.5 tonne trailer for a Nolex 30, built for someone who wanted something bulletproof for serious road miles around NZ. Triple axle, electric hydraulic brakes, rubber torsion suspension, and alloy wheels throughout.

When the brief is "make it bulletproof," that's exactly what we do.
