Touchwood Fishing Charters, Gisborne, NZ Experience fishing the beautiful East Coast of Gisborne on our 12.5m vessel Touchwood. Charters available 7 days a week.

We have trip options to suit everyone, from an experienced angler to a complete novice. We offer 4, 5, 7, 10 hour and Game charters both as private and shared trips. Our skippers specialise in local knowledge finding you a catch to boast about. Our crew can help junior's through to intermediate & advanced angler's. We provide all the fishing gear, bait, ice, tea and coffee. We will bait your hooks, take the fish off and fillet and skin all the fish caught. All you need to bring is yourself and your lunch.

Another beautiful morning out there. Fishing was tough in close so we had to go out a lot further than usual but it paid off. Some lovely tarakihi and snapper caught plus a decent trevally. We timed our departure right as it definitely cut up on the way in.

Finally got the crew from 7th Rose Tattoo Company out on our boat, we've talked about it for a few years, everytime we get new ink, and Finally got them out today. Conditions were beautiful. Some nice kahawai, gurnard and a decent snapper caught. A great afternoon spent with 7th Rose and Thomas, our new deckie, and his lovely family.

It's been a great run of weather these last few days, with the forecasts being quite accurate, which is not that common.
Today however not so much. The forecast was for lovely conditions, in close, until lunchtime, perfect as we had a morning coastal.
It was almost picture perfect as we headed across the bay and then we headed around Young Nicks Head and picture perfect it was no more.
The southerly, forecast to come around lunchtime, decided to show up early, very early!
Anyway, we still got the trip out, fishing was slow but the kahawai were fat!

Today's spectacular dolphins 🐬. The were all around the boat while we were at anchor as well. Just so cool; always a joy to see.

What an amazing experience. The dolphins appeared to be working in unison the herd bait fish.
