Check your tyres, top up your fluids, replace those wipers if they barely made it through winter, give it a good old scrub… and if your service is due, get that ticked off the list too.

But that doesn't mean you can skip the service.

Your WOF is an important safety check, but it isn't a replacement for regular servicing.

Servicing is about keeping on top of maintenance, spotting problems early and giving your car the best chance of running reliably.

Think of it this way:

WOF = Is my car safe to be on the road?
Service = Is my car being properly looked after?

We know finding a mechanic you trust isn't always easy. Most of us have either had a bad experience or know someone who has.

DON'T POUR BOILING WATER ON YOUR WINDSCREEN!!!!

Rapid temperature changes - frozne to boiling - can crack your windscreen. A headache you don’t want!

Here is how to defrost your windscreen safely:

1️⃣ Turn the car on and use the front demister with warm air. Switch on the air conditioning too, as it helps remove moisture from inside the car.

2️⃣ Use a proper ice scraper on the outside, and clear the whole windscreen before driving. Not just a small viewing hole 👀👀👀

❌ Avoid boiling water, metal scrapers, and running your wipers over thick ice.

A few extra minutes on a cold morning is a lot cheaper than replacing a windscreen.

Drive safe out there! ❄️

2️⃣ Bring it in when you notice something is off.

If you are getting your car serviced regularly and bringing your car in as soon as you notice something is off, we can pick up on issues when they are easy and less expensive to fix.

If you have been putting off stopping in, give us a call asap.
