Mini Cooper number 2!! The sister to the previous (green with white roof) except this one has much more rust. Thanks to mini spares for all the repair panels, getting heritage panels where we can has and will definitely help fix this one!
The spot welder made light work of welding the new roof on, there’s a first time to everything… that being with a first roof replacement on a mini, so that was good fun completing!
Floor has been all welded into the front of the cabin. Rear of floor will be finished off when we start the process of a whole new boot floor.
digging into the drivers side front corner was very rusty. again going right back to the first skin in the pillar area. We have been Focusing on getting the pinch join straight top to bottom, that meant we had to re-fold the panel where the door attaches to, remove the top hat bracing(which will get modified) to suit the new angle. This is so the door , pillar and guard all run true / flat with each other
Attention to detail has been a big one on the repairs so far, which will continue during the whole repair process
