🔧 When was the last time your brake fluid was replaced?
Brake fluid is one of the most important fluids in your vehicle, yet it’s often overlooked.
Brake fluid is hygroscopic, meaning it naturally absorbs moisture from the air over time. This can lead to:
• Reduced braking performance
• A soft or spongy brake pedal
• Internal corrosion of brake system components
• Increased stopping distances, especially during heavy braking
Most manufacturers recommend replacing brake fluid every 2 years or 30,000 km, whichever comes first.
Even if the brake fluid looks clean in the reservoir, or a brake fluid tester indicates it’s OK, that doesn’t always mean it’s in good condition. Most brake fluid testers only measure moisture content. They don’t detect contamination, sediment or corrosion particles. Fine particles and sediment can accumulate at the bottom of the reservoir and throughout the brake system, where they aren’t always visible.
Regular brake fluid replacement helps protect important brake components and maintain reliable braking performance.
Don’t wait until braking performance is compromised. Degraded brake fluid can put your safety at risk and contribute to premature brake system component failure. Book your brake fluid inspection or service today to help ensure your vehicle can stop safely when it matters most.
