The AT team were delighted to preserve history by carefully deconstructing the historic wall at the Carrington Hospital site. The historic wall will be rebuilt approximately 8 metres west of its current location when construction of the Carrington Road project is complete.

The historic wall is an important part of Auckland’s history and will be reconstructed brick by brick, in the same style.

The Carrington Road project is upgrading essential services for new housing development, including power, electricity, gas and water. It will also improve the access and safety along this vital route connecting Point Chevalier and Mount Albert.

Seen our Bus Safety Ambassadors and Pou Manaaki on your bus? 👋🚌

They’re there as a friendly face and helping hand for you out on the network, and work closely with New Zealand Police to share what they’re hearing and seeing.

With 37 Bus Safety Ambassadors providing around 900 hours of visible presence each week, these partnerships help us understand what’s happening on the ground and direct support where it can make the biggest difference.

Thanks to Kinetic NZ, tranzurban, Armourguard Security and Te Hā Oranga for helping make the trial possible, alongside funding from NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi - Auckland

Have any feedback on the trial? We’d love to hear from you at [email protected]

More people use Pakuranga Road's T2 lane than you might think. It's helping move thousands of people every day, and we're stepping up enforcement to keep it working well. If you're driving solo, you can only use the lane for up to 50 metres, that's about three seconds at 50km/h. Check before you drive and help keep your city moving.

What. A. Week 🚆💙

A week in which Auckland stepped into a new era of public transport.

Yes, it was a week of records, with 528,007 train boardings and our busiest Sunday and Saturday ever. But it's about so much more than the numbers.

It's about the families exploring new stations, the commuters trying new journeys, the rail fans riding the network they waited years to see, and the thousands of Aucklanders who embraced this historic moment.

To everyone who travelled, shared their experiences, welcomed customers, or helped keep the network moving, thank you.

The smiles, excitement and pride we've seen across the city have been unforgettable.
This is only the beginning, and we can't wait to see where your new network takes you next.

Flat-pack isn't just for furniture. 🚆

Auckland Transport has applied the same modular thinking to three new pedestrian station access bridges, helping reduce both construction time and costs.

The new pedestrian bridges at Glen Innes, Te Mahia and Takaanini opened ahead of the City Rail Link, giving people a safer way to access their stations and help improve journey times by train.

They're part of Auckland Transport's wider plan to remove or replace rail level crossings across the network to improve safety, support more frequent trains, and keep people and traffic moving.

Two ends of the boardwalk meet – Te Ara ki Uta ki Tai – the final stage!

Deputy Mayor Desley Simpson and Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei representatives joined us on-site to mark a major construction milestone on the boardwalk in Waitaramoa (Hobson Bay): the two sections have now met in the middle.

Since construction started in May last year, crews have steadily built out the boardwalk from Purewa Bridge (Ōrākei Road) and from Onepū Whakatakataka Reserve, and those sections have now joined up.

There is still plenty to do before the boardwalk opens. The team is fitting balustrades, which are already proving very popular with the local kōtare (kingfishers) as a convenient perch in the bay, and removing staging platforms. Next up will be lighting, CCTV, landscaping and other finishing works, along with building the connections to Ngāpipi Road shared path and to Ōrākei Road by Purewa Bridge.
