Ball joints connect the control arms to the steering knuckles, allowing your wheels to steer and move with the suspension. When a ball joint becomes severely worn, it can suddenly fail—causing loss of steering control or even wheel separation while driving.

✅How to check:
Safely lift the vehicle and support it with jack stands. Hold the tyre at the 12 and 6 o’clock positions, then rock it back and forth. Any looseness or movement may indicate a worn ball joint.

Also check at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions—movement here may point to a worn steering component or wheel bearing. Don’t ignore knocking sounds, unstable steering, or uneven tyre wear. A small amount of play can become a serious safety risk.
