🏁 Continuing Our Journey with Gabriel Sammut🏁

We’re thrilled to announce that Debono Group will be supporting and sponsoring Gabriel Sammut for another exciting year of racing!

Gabriel’s story is one of true passion, perseverance, and precision — values that lie at the heart of both Toyota Malta and Debono Group.

From his very first Toyota Starlet GT Turbo back in 2009 to his current purpose-built racing Starlet, Gabriel’s dedication to hillclimb racing has been unstoppable. Despite setbacks — including a major accident in 2019 — he rebuilt, refined, and returned stronger than ever, embodying Toyota’s spirit of "Always Better."

After making his comeback in 2021, Gabriel’s partnership with Toyota Malta began in 2023 — and we’ve been proud to watch him push his limits ever since.

Now, as he gears up for two upcoming events:
🏎️ 8–9 November – Time Attack, Autodromo Valle dei Templi, Racalmuto
🏁 16 November – Ta’ Pennellu Hillclimb, Mellieħa
—we can’t wait to see what he’ll achieve next.

Let’s cheer him on as he continues to take his Toyota Starlet — and Maltese motorsport — to new heights.

🌊 Full sail ahead — the adventure continues! ⛵

Our teammate Matthew Zarb Cousin and his crew are setting sail once again — this time competing in the BOV Gozo Regatta, a much-loved highlight on Malta’s sailing calendar, kicking off on 7th November.

Starting from Marsamxett Harbour, Matthew and his yacht Thunder Child — a Beneteau 30E — will take on a three-day challenge:
⚓ Friday: Marsamxett to Gozo
⚓ Saturday: Around Gozo, finishing in Mġarr Marina
⚓ Sunday: Around Comino, returning to Marsamxett

At Debono Group , we hold sports and passion close to our hearts, celebrating the drive, discipline, and determination that fuel both personal pursuits and professional success. Through our 'Start Your Impossible initiative', we’re proud to support Matthew as he channels these values on the water.

Today marks the 26th anniversary of the passing of Mr Michael Debono, the visionary who transformed mobility in Malta by introducing the very first Toyota vehicle to Europe.

His entrepreneurial spirit, courage, and dedication laid the foundation for what Debono Group is today.
He remains deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all of us at Debono Group.

May he rest in peace. 🕊
