Before you decide to go to your local BMW Dealership, talk to us. We will run Dealership Level Diagnostic on your car and tell you what is wrong with it.

- Airbag Light on your dashboard! We can switch it off by deactivating the faulty module. BMW Dealership will not do it for you at all!

- You want to replace a faulty module on your BMW for a used one. The Module will need to be programmed in

order to be recognised by the car main ECU. BMW Dealership will not do it for you! BMW vehicles are packed with lots of useful features such as Welcome Light, Folding Mirrors, Automatic re-lock, Convenient Locking, Open/Close Windows from the key fob, Digital Speed reading on Cluster, Video in Motion etc. but they may not be activated from the factory. BMW Dealership might be able to do that for you, but it will cost you a fortune!

🚗 BMW F36 420d – Timing Chain Replacement & Turbo Reconditioning 🔧

This BMW F36 420d came to BMworkshop.ie – Independent BMW Specialists with a noticeable engine noise on cold start.

🔍 After inspection and diagnostics, we identified the cause as a stretched timing chain.

The repair included:

✅ Genuine BMW timing chain kit supplied and fitted
✅ Timing chain replacement
✅ Full inspection of the engine components
✅ Turbocharger inspection

While carrying out the timing chain replacement, we also found that the turbocharger was showing signs of wear. Rather than leaving the issue to develop into a bigger problem, we reconditioned the turbocharger at the same time.

The car was then fully checked to make sure everything was operating correctly before being returned to the customer. 💪

🚨 BMW G11 730d – Power Loss & EML Fault 🚨

This BMW G11 730d came to BMworkshop.ie – Independent BMW Specialists with a complaint of loss of power and the EML warning light.

🔧 After a thorough inspection and BMW diagnostics, we identified the cause — broken swirl flaps inside the intake manifold.

Once the intake manifold was removed, we found that several swirl flaps had broken off and fallen into the intake ports. ⚠️ This can potentially cause serious engine damage if the broken components make their way further into the engine.

✅ Genuine BMW intake manifold supplied and fitted
✅ Faulty swirl flaps replaced with the complete Genuine BMW manifold
✅ Full inspection and BMW diagnostics carried out
✅ Fault codes cleared and vehicle tested after repair

The BMW was then returned to the customer running correctly with full power restored. 💪

🚗 BMW G30 520d – Twin Turbo Replacement at BMworkshop.ie | Independent BMW Specialists 🔧

This BMW G30 520d came to us with a lack of power complaint.

After carrying out a full inspection and BMW diagnostics, we confirmed that at least one of the turbochargers had failed. Once both turbos were removed, we found: ✅ The small turbocharger had failed ✅ The large turbocharger actuator was faulty

After inspecting the oil supply channels, it was clear that the most likely cause of the turbo failure was poor servicing and oil contamination.

To ensure a reliable repair, we replaced: ✔️ Both turbochargers ✔️ All oil supply pipes ✔️ All required gaskets and seals

Using quality parts and following BMW repair procedures ensures the new turbochargers receive proper lubrication and long-term reliability.

🚗 BMW G05 X5 45e – Oil Pump Replacement 🔧

Another BMW repaired at BMworkshop.ie – Independent BMW Specialists.

The customer brought this BMW G05 X5 45e to us after the oil pressure warning light appeared on the dashboard. It was also impossible to check the engine oil level through iDrive, indicating a serious issue with the lubrication system.

After carrying out a full diagnostic inspection, we traced the fault to the engine oil pump.

As you can see in the photos, the plastic component inside the oil pump had cracked, causing a loss of oil pressure. This vehicle had covered 170,000 km, and replacing the faulty oil pump restored proper oil pressure and normal engine operation.

⚠️ Driving with low oil pressure can cause severe engine damage if ignored. If your BMW displays an oil pressure warning or won't allow you to check the oil level in iDrive, have it inspected as soon as possible.
