Take the instance of a car that called into the garage recently. It sported brake discs that were worn down to the wire as you will see in the photos.

In it you can see one disc of a factory's recommended minimum thickness and side by side to it, the disc that came off the car in question!

😳It's quite the difference!

🔍 Zeroing in on the Details:
Zoom in further, and you'll spot it – a calliper snapshot that reveals a 3.3mm worn section on one side. Extrapolate that across both sides, and it's a 6.6mm wear, down from the original 12.15mm – that's a staggering reduction of around 5.55mm!

Consider this – the factory recommends a minimum thickness of 10mm. The maths don't add up and your safety is compromised.
