As the new year begins & fleets change, we here at Jensen Fleet are always looking at what new units can be added to our rental fleet to give options across the board for our customers. To start with in 2026, we have chosen to look at some of Renaults newest options. First up is the Renault Austral, full Hybrid, E Tech with a self-charging battery.

Renault Austral
The Austral is a facelift model and will replace the Renault Kadjar. It comes in a full hybrid with an amazing 1,100Km’s range. The Austral will compete against the likes Toyota Rav 4 & Hyundai Tucson, in the ever-popular crossover SUV range. What can we expect from the facelift model. With fancy LED lights on the front and rear and with a square silhouette tempered by rounded corners, this vehicle is extremely pleasing on the eye.

The interior is similar stylish with a 12” touch screen display with 50+ apps including google maps built in. Outside of this, it is roomy with a clever sliding rear seat allowing you increase the leg room for the rear passenger or the boot space to suit your needs.
The driving experience of the Austral with a 2KwH battery offers plenty of range especially around town driving. We found the Austral to drive well, it handles great around corners and manoeuvres well especially in tight spaces. We are looking forward to having the Austral on our rental fleet for 2026.

We will also look at Renaults smaller crossover SUV, the Renault Symbioz.

Renault Symbioz
The Renault Symbioz is ideally suited to families & fleets with a large enough cabin for comfort and space. The exterior is remarkably similar to the facelift Austral model with beautiful, rounded corners & half diamond shaped lights. This vehicle comes with a big boot and expandable sliding rear bench to add more storage space or legroom depending on your needs.

The Interior comes with a 10” display screen which comes with full Google integration. The Symbioz, in the top spec model, includes the “Solarbay” panoramic glass sunroof which offers 4 settings that can be activated by voice control to make the glass darker or lighter depending on your wants and needs.

This vehicle comes with the 1.6 E Tech engine giving a range of 1,000Km’s with an 80% full electric.
We found this to be a very likeable car; ticks all the boxes for the market it is aiming itself at & we are looking forward to offering both the Symbioz and the Austral to our rental customers in 2026.

This week we had the pleasure of putting our first Renault 5 out on lease. We had the Renault 5 Iconic 52 Kwh battery 150 HP WLTP Range 410Km in the statement yellow. In the office we were all blown away by the sheer style of this re-imaged 1980’s vehicle. The custom Pop Yellow shone out on a grey summer’s day in Kildare.

The drive of the vehicle was extremely comfortable with the seats and a well-tuned suspension gliding over any bumps with ease at any speed. The Renault 5 is equally at home on the motorway and the city but comes alive on the twisty roads with extraordinarily little body rolls in the corners. We found this vehicle to be extremely easy to drive with a smooth power delivery and braking, something not all EV’s can say.
