For the first time ever, the Patch Tyre Equipment ICCR Junior MINI Challenge crosses the Irish Sea this weekend to compete at the beautiful Anglesey Circuit / Trac Môn
Logan Hoey leads the title chase after the first two rounds at Mondello Park but he has a host of talent right on his tail. Kyle Irvine is second- he is fast and consistent and could be a factor this weekend whilst Joshua Henry had a stunning circuit racing debut last time out, winning race two. 2023 Champion Bobby Joe McFall is next up but doesn't appear on the entry list this weekend. Don't discount the ladies either, Holly Dunnion is an experienced karter and has already won in the series and is one of the hardest racers out there- the twisty top section or the high speed approach to Rocket corner might suit her trademark late braking lunges. Leah McManus has been fast in Junior Rallycross and is still finding her feet in circuit racing, but is getting faster each time out.
it doesn't end there though- Jack Fildes, the fourth generation of racers from the famous racing family, has shown blinding pace on occasion, so keep an eye out for the immaculate Gulf lookalike liveried car. TJ Taaffe won the Mondello Park Scholarship and drives their car. He is highly rated by the judges on the day and will surely move towards the front as the season progresses. Leo Richardson is another third generation racer and has taken to the R50 Minis like a duck to water, showing great speed in his POB Racing tended machne. Lucca Mullins is son of Mondello Park National lap record holder Sylvie and has shown strong form in testing, so is worth watching. Daithi Kennedy, Harry Dowling and Martin Finnegan have also made great progress lately despite minimal experience.
