We are looking for a Vehicle Workshop Assistant to join our busy and friendly workshop team

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to learn, enjoys working with vehicles and wants to develop a career in the motor trade. The successful candidate will initially work alongside our experienced technicians, gaining practical experience and learning how a professional vehicle workshop operates

For the right candidate, there may be the opportunity to progress this role onto an apprenticeship with us, subject to suitability, performance and the relevant apprenticeship requirements.

The role will include:

● Assisting our technicians with day-to-day workshop tasks
● Preparing vehicles and keeping the workshop clean and organised
● Assisting with the safe movement of vehicles around the premises
● Learning to use workshop tools and equipment correctly
● Carrying out basic vehicle-related tasks under supervision
● Developing knowledge and practical skills across a range of vehicles


What we’re looking for:

You don’t need previous workshop experience-enthusiasm, reliability, a great work ethic and a willingness to learn are more important to us- we can teach the rest!

We’re looking for someone who:

● Has a genuine interest in cars and mechanics in general
● Is practical and enjoys working with their hands
● Is keen to learn new skills and has immense pride in what they do
● Has a good attitude and takes pride in their work
● Is reliable, punctual and works well as part of a team
● Is willing to listen, learn and follow instructions
● Is committed to developing a career within the motor trade

Previous experience in a garage, workshop or mechanical environment would be an advantage, but full training will be provided.

A brake by wire (B*W) equipped Discovery Sport having its brake fluid change done the correct way as part of its annual service today……

If this isn’t done properly it can damage the brake booster module and cost thousands of pounds to repair

Over the last 10 days our workshop has gone through a little transformation 🤓

This is the sort of job you always put off as a business due to the scale of what has to be done and the downtime required. That being said, It’s been 15 plus years since the walls have been cleaned/painted properly and they were looking very tired indeed-it was well overdue!

The roof was cleaned/hoovered internally as were the walls to remove any debris/cobwebs. Everything was then removed from the workshop and the walls were all de-greased, cleaned and painted. Once this was complete the floor had a fresh coat of paint to finish everything off.

Special thanks to Nathan, William and our old friend Trevor for doing such a fantastic job!

Doesn’t it look great 😍

Now, paint brushes down and back to fixing Land Rovers 😎

We are completely against the introduction of GST in Guernsey.

The impact this tax will have on not only small businesses, but everyone who lives here in Guernsey is huge.

The cost of living is already spiralling out of control with many not being able to afford a home and struggling to get by from month to month, GST will add to this pressure and no doubt be a breaking point for many families and businesses causing them to close or leave the island.

With the debate being on Wednesday, I urge anyone against GST to please let their voice be heard by emailing: [email protected] to express your concerns.

What an absolute stinker of a week that was!!!

Everyone in the motor trade (and in fact most other trades I should imagine) will be aware that you get the odd day where absolutely everything goes completely upside down. Well, we have had 5 consecutive days of that this week 😖

Parts missing from orders causing huge job hold ups, cars breaking down on road test due to a fuel pump failure following suspension/brake work and to top it off it was like an oven in the workshop all week which made every single task hard work!!

Regardless of the above It involved long days and a 5.45am start yesterday but we managed to get everything finished that was booked in-just about!

A huge thank you to Nathan and William this week, everyone put a mega shift in to ensure all the jobs were completed as quickly as possible, despite all of the set backs we came across!!!

Here’s hoping next week is a little less stressful 🙏 🥴
