π₯ YOUR OM651 IS TRYING TO BREATHE THROUGH THIS?! π³
This is what we found inside a Mercedes OM651 inlet manifold.
Thatβs not a little bit of dirt.
Thatβs years of carbon, soot and oil buildup restricting the airflow into the engine. π€―
And look at the throttle bodyβ¦ itβs absolutely covered too.
When the intake system gets this bad, your Mercedes may start showing the signs:
β Loss of power
β Poor acceleration
β Increased fuel consumption
β Limp mode
β EGR-related faults
β Excessive smoke
β DPF problems
β Poor engine performance
The problem is that many owners keep driving because the van still starts and runs.
But an engine needs AIR.
If the inlet is heavily restricted, cleaning only the DPF or replacing sensors isnβt necessarily going to solve the real problem.
π§ At VAN AUTO LTD, when we diagnose Mercedes diesel problems, we look at the whole system β intake, EGR, DPF, turbo and related components β rather than just throwing parts at the fault codes.
This OM651 definitely needed attention. π¬
π Be honest β how blocked would you say this inlet is? 50%? 70%? 90%?
