Ton Hire Vehicle Hire & Fleet Sales We at Ton Hire are celebrating 60 years in the industry. As the business grew, the organisation relocated to Paddock Wood in 1979.

Our aim is to offer individuals and organisations modern quality vehicles with competitive rates while maintaining excellent customer services. Ton Hire has always been recognised as a leading supplier of short-and long-term hire vehicles. Although customers primarily use our services for vans, we do have a selection of car hire options, ideal for family getaways or as a spare car when sending in

their own vehicle for MOT/service checks. Ton Hire has spent many years positioning itself as a quality hire service in Paddock Wood, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Maidstone, and the surrounding areas. Founded in January 1963 by Roy James Edwards, Ton Tyre Auto Ltd started as a family-owned tyre provider/service organisation located in Tonbridge. Roy, the Managing Director, grew up as a rally driver in the 1950's and always had been fascinated by the automotive industry. The company trading as Ton Hire started the commercial business hire in 1984 and the self-drive side in 1987. Royanne Kenworthy, Roy’s daughter joined Ton Hire in early 1990's to help continue the growth of Ton Hire across Kent. Roy prided himself in being part of the Paddock Wood community and was very involved with donating vehicles to Paddock Wood Carnival and Fair and being part of the Christmas food drives. In 2020, Roy retired, and his daughter, Royanne, took control of most of the day-to-day operations. It was a year of new challenges as COVID-19 shut down the whole country. Ton Hire continued to operate, providing hire vehicles for essential service organisations. As the NHS was overwhelmed with an unprecedented number of COVID-19 cases, Royanne donated a Luton van to Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS. Today we continue to offer small and large cars, small vans, SWB, MWB, LWB and Luton vans to organisations and local families and individuals across Kent. We also offer 9/17 seat minibuses along with 3.5 tonne Dropside flatbed vans. Our team at Ton Hire keeps the focus on offering great hire vehicles and exceptional customer service.

End of an era at Ton Hire! 🚙✨
Today we are celebrating a massive milestone and a bittersweet goodbye. After 17 years of keeping our fleet in showroom condition, our legendary valeter, Dave, is officially retiring! 🥂
Dave, you’ve been a part of the family for over a decade and a half. From the early mornings in the yard to ensuring every van left with a sparkle, your hard work and dedication have been the backbone of the team. We aren’t quite sure what we’ll do without you (or who will show us how it’s properly done!), but we wish you the very best as you hang up the sponge for good.
Please join Dave, Dilan, Vicky, and the whole crew in wishing Dave a very happy and well-deserved retirement.
