Good Afternoon Everyone
We have a little bit of sad news and some positive and exciting news!
Brindley our 10 year old Shire has sadly got a cataract in his eye, which has resulted in him having limited visibility. He has been checked over by Western Counties Equine Hospital, who have said he is fit and well otherwise and they are now looking into any potential possibilities to help Brindley. Brindley will be taking the rest of the season off to give him the time that he needs.
Our Exciting News is the Arrival of our New Horse!
We would like to introduce you to Lizzie, our 13 year old Shire, who has now arrived! She was collect from Cowthorpe Green Shires in West Yorkshire by Nicola Strides Transport and is settling well. We can't thank Nicola enough for all her efforts and would recommend her to anyone looking for transport.
Stuart Green and his family have breed and raised Lizzie. she has previously done carriage work as well as bracken rolling for the National Trust. We are very proud to have her as part of our team, at the Horse-drawn Barge! We would like to Thank the Green Family for introducing us to Lizzie and for all their support.
You will see Lizzie out and about on the Tow path as she starts to get familiar with her new job rule, and within the next couple of weeks she will be taking her first passengers up the Canal on their Horse-drawn Barge experience.
We would like to say that with Brindley taking the rest of the season off and Lizzie going through her training, you will be seeing George more often while we are going through this change over. We will unfortunately be having to make changes to our Timetable and cancelling trips, to ensure that we are looking after George, so that he is not working any more than he would do normally.
Becky and Myself our working as quickly as we can, to get everything up and running as it should be. We really appreciate your support through this challenging time and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
We will look forward to seeing you all soon and introducing you to Lizzie.
