I shouldn’t really do this as it’s unprofessional but seeing as this person continues to spread rumours it seems he’s forced my hand
I won’t name him because that’s not how I work, but you’ll know if he’s spoken to you.
There is a guy who is unhappy that he has an unfinished system, which was started last year.
What this person is neglecting to tell everyone is that at no point has he had the money to purchase the remaining amps and DSP for the build - totaling around £3k. If at some point he had told me he had freed up the funds then the build would have continued, and I had been very patient with him for months while waiting for him to get funds together.
This year we had dates in the diary on two occasions, first one was put back because he didn’t have the money for the amps/dsp he wanted.
2nd one cancelled again because he blew his engine up and needed to find the money to have it fixed - I even facilitated the sale of some of it for him and said I’d supply replacements at trade later down the line so he’s not out of pocket.
Then I get asked to refund some of the paid up front labour because he no longer wanted to finish the project - which I did immediately, but he’s still not happy.
He turned up to collect some boxes and old panels on a Saturday when he knows I’m not open, with no prior arrangement and decided to get annoyed and sit outside my unit making my friend and business partner uncomfortable as they were working on a private project at the time, all the time spamming me with calls and messages. He was asked to leave or the police would be called. People should not have to put up with that kind of harassment.
The fact this person continues to complain about me to all and sundry after the amount of times I went above and beyond to accommodate him is honestly a kick in the teeth, and this should be a warning to the other installers he’s be contacting - get your money up front or don’t deal with him.
Let me reiterate - AT NO POINT HAS HE COMFIRMED FUNDS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO FINISH THE BUILD.
If you employed a builder to do an extension but you told him you don’t have the money for the last few grands worth of materials and you’re not sure when you’d have it. would you expect him to carry on and finish not knowing if he’ll get paid? Of course not.
If you have a garage work in your car to the tune of a few grand and then don’t pay them, do you think you’re getting your car back?
Like I said. This is not how I wanted to deal with this, and I’ve been threatened with court action, it’s seems this person is not able to think logically about the situation. I have even advised for this person to get some 3rd party advice before trying to ruin my reputation. Apparently I have done this to 4 other people too, but no names have been given.
I have all messages and emails to back up my side of the story. Hopefully this guy speaks to someone who can get through to him, if you’re reading this you need more info then PM me.
