After a hard hitting weekend of racing and after only a handful of meetings Rubys new car is ready for its first front bumper replacement.
As long as its fronts being replaced and not rears then we don’t mind at all.💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Also the back axle needs re bracketing as she’s bent that lot too.😂😂

Smeatharpe day 2.
Not as good as day 1😩😩 We was up early and Ruby was on the welder fixing some axle damage we had missed from the night before.🙄

Heat 1, was running in 3rd and unfortunately spun and got hit head on causing quite a bit of front end damage.😩

Heat 2, following on from heat 1 damage the front right shocker mount snapped on lap 2 but Ruby being Ruby just carried on regardless. She managed to finished 8th 👏🏻

Final,
The back axle decided to destroy itself and bent all its brackets ending up in a DNF.

That was that for the day and we loaded up and hit the road for home.

What a fantastic day 1 at Smeatharpe.

Heat 1, 9th after a solid race.

Heat 2, 6th after slotting it through a frantic last bend mellay.👌🏻

Final, 3rd and what a fantastic race. She was running 2nd behind 296 right up till 2 laps to go when the yellow flags came out.
Restart and first bend she went back to 3rd. Next lap she was a put wide and into 5th but she got that bit between the teeth and wanted that podium back and boy did she deserve it with an outstanding last bend lunge taking her 2 places back.💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

GN, prop shaft snapped its bolts mid race and she ended up with a DNF.

Great 1st day and loads of WQ points scored. Now time for some beers and onto day 2 tomorrow.😀

Elation😀 and disappointment😩 all in one day.
We got up there early morning to do some testing with Rubys new car as we knew we was nearly there with it but we needed to find that bit extra and oh boy we found it💪🏻💪🏻

Heat 1.
She led the race for 14 laps and had an ok lead. 2 lap board come out and coming out of turn 2 she just over cooked it a little bit too much and spun😩😩 Absolutely gutted, so nearly to the flag and ended up not finishing😢

Heat 2.
She put her mirror up so she couldn’t see anything behind and off she went from the start and absolutely nailed it. Won the race by about the length of the full straight🏆🏁🤩🤩 Absolutely buzzing. First of many wins hopefully in the new car and the huge confidence boost that she needed.💪🏻💪🏻
Dad pulled up bumper to bumper after the flag for a big hug with Ruby😍😍

Final.
She was up for this. Heat and final double on the cards🤞🏻🤞🏻
She was proper fast. Led the race all the way up the the very very last bend when 154 hit her going into turn 3 and Ruby couldn’t hold on and ended up spun out 20 yards from the finishing line😭😭😭😭 Absolute heartbreak for her. She was absolutely devastated. So close to a final win and it was snatched away after all the hard work😢😢

GN.
She got herself back together after the final upset and drove a blinder once again. Led the race for about 10 laps until 257 caught her and passed her. She stuck on his back bumper but in the end was too far back to challenge for the lead back. Crossed the line in 2nd position.👏🏻

So a good and bad day all rolled into 1. She really deserved 3 trophy’s but came home with 1😔

The car is almost where we want it to be but not quite 100 percent. Ruby is definitely where we want her to be💪🏻 Confidence is key in this game and that was the big boost we needed with her.👌🏻

The lap times don’t lie either. 0.11 of the fastest lap in that final 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

We won’t report on dad as he was s**t all day😂 Loaded up in the end with engine gremlins.😔

Weekend report, A long way from home!! Ipswich and Great Yarmouth.

A steady weekend on all accounts racing wise but a fantastic weekend with family and friends 👌🏻👌🏻

Ipswich was fast. Great big track, Ruby loved it, Mike not so much🤣🤣
Apart form the final when Ruby, Mike and Guy Jolly ended up in a bumper off for the last few laps trading places every bend which was great to watch and enjoyable to be part of.👏🏻👏🏻

Great Yarmouth was again brilliant, fantastic little track and Mike loved this one💪🏻
Ruby snapped her prop shaft in heat 2 and Mike snapped his in the GN 🤔😳😩 Along with 5 flat tyres over the weekend.

Today we have been in the garage all day, Rubys car has had a new Diff and the gear selector and arms repaired as it destroyed them when the prop let go.
Mike has cut and shortened 2x new prop shafts, Paul has been on the tyre machine all day and Ruby has been on the tyre cleaning machine prepping her tyres.💪🏻💪🏻

This coming Saturday both Ruby and Mike are at Buxton for another tarmac round in the V8s 👌🏻
