Ryder Motorcycles

Ryder Motorcycles Official dealer of Arai & AGV helmets, and RST clothing. After 23 years in the automotive & fleet industry, I started Ryder Automotive in December 2015.

Growing up in a family with a haulage business, with a father who raced motocross, a career with vehicles was probably inevitable. We're very much a family business, run by me and my wife, Kelly. We sell all types of vehicles, both 2 wheel and 4, but always with old fashioned values of honesty, trust, and respect. Motorcycles and motorsport are still very much a part of our lives. I raced motorcro

ss at club level, but after realising that I don't bounce as well as I used to, I now get my kicks on tarmac, and I'm a regular at track days around the UK. Both of our boys rode motocross when they were little, before our youngest son, James, started karting. He raced at club level through the Junior Rotax ranks with some success, and a lot more trophy's than me. If you find one of the rare moments when we're not at work, you'll probably find us "testing" the goods, whether on track or tour. Joe Ryder

We’re all set up and ready for the day down at ActionTrax Exedown with the Kove range 👌

We’ve got the Kove 450 Rally, 800X Pro and 800X Rally here today, giving people a chance to get up close to the bikes and see what they’re actually about in the flesh.

The ActionTrax team will also be trying the bikes through the day, so we’re looking forward to hearing what experienced off road riders think of them 👀

One thing that’s already becoming obvious with Kove is that the conversation quickly moves away from where they’re built… and onto how good they actually are.

The quality, finish and attention to detail on these bikes really is impressive.

If you’re nearby, come and say hello 👌

Something BIG is coming… 👀

The all-new Kove 625X will officially launch at the ABR Festival next month… and trust us, this one is going to get people talking.

We’ll be on the official Kove Moto UK stand throughout the ABR Festival, alongside the full Kove range, and we cannot wait for people to finally see what’s coming next from Kove 🔥

If you’re heading to ABR Festival 2026, make sure you come and find us 👌

Spur Of The Moment RMRC Ride Outs Are Often The Best Ones 👌

Wednesday night’s ride wasn’t planned. No big build-up, no organised route, no weeks of preparation… just a hot summer evening and a quick “who’s coming out then?” message.

And somehow around 20 of us ended up heading down to Hastings for fish & chips by the sea before looping back home through Winchelsea and Rye 🌅

Great route. Great company. Absolutely terrible tarmac 😂

The roads might have looked like they’d recently been shelled by artillery, but that didn’t stop everyone making the most of a proper summer evening ride out.

It was absolutely roasting too… and by the time we got home, most of us looked like we’d ridden head first through the insect section at the Natural History Museum 🪰😂

Air mesh jackets might keep you cool… but apparently they also turn you into full-size Velcro bug traps around........… 60mph 😉

Special mention has to go to James as well, who decided Wednesday night was the perfect time to dust off his track bike after it had been parked up for the last two years.

Turns out riding a race bike across Kent’s cratered roads in 30 degree heat maybe wasn’t his greatest idea 😂

And genuinely, Kent Highways & Transport — you should be ashamed of the state some of Kent’s roads have been allowed to fall into.

We ride thousands of miles all over the UK and Europe every year, and some of the surfaces across Kent are now amongst the worst we encounter anywhere.

We’d genuinely welcome an open discussion with your highways team and local riders about the condition of the roads, the impact on rider safety, and what can realistically be done to improve things — because from a motorcyclist’s perspective, some areas are becoming beyond poor and are now actively dangerous.

A proper last-minute RMRC summer ride out 👌

April Sales Update 📈🏍️

The strong start to 2026 continued into April 👌

April saw us complete 29 bike sales, compared to 27 during April last year, with year-to-date sales now running 29% higher than the same point in 2025.

What’s particularly encouraging is that this growth has come not just from used bikes, but now also from the addition of new bikes, with Kove joining the business this year too, and they’re really starting to gain traction now 👌

Since January it’s felt pretty relentless at times, with the workshop, sales department, phone lines, enquiries, demos, events, bike prep, and bike travel, all being flat out.

That said, towards the end of April things definitely started to slow down noticeably, and that quieter trend has continued through much of May too. So whilst the year-to-date figures remain very positive overall, the market certainly feels a little more cautious right now than it did earlier in the year.

As always though, we genuinely appreciate every single person who chooses to buy a bike from us, whether it’s your first motorcycle, your tenth, or simply the latest addition to the garage 😅

A huge thank you and congratulations to all of our April customers:

We’re Heading To ActionTrax Exedown This Sunday 👌

This Sunday morning we’ll be visiting our friends at ActionTrax over at their brilliant Exedown enduro track with the Kove range.

We’ll be there from opening until lunchtime, talking bikes, showing people around the Kove models, and chatting all things trail, dual sport and enduro riding.

If you’ve never ridden at ActionTrax before, and you’re looking for a proper place to practice your off road riding in a safe closed-course environment, it really is excellent.

Whether you want to:

practice riding at speed without worrying about walkers, horses or oncoming traffic
improve your confidence off road
tackle more technical climbs, ruts and woodland sections
or simply spend a morning riding with like-minded people

…then Exedown is a fantastic playground for it 👌

The track caters for a wide range of abilities, with technical sections for experienced riders and easier routes built in too.

And at just £51.50 for a full day’s riding, it’s incredible value.

If you fancy coming along, get booked in here:

Hopefully see some of you there 👊

MIDWEEK DIRT THERAPY 👌🌲🏍️

What a cracking night out we had on Wednesday for our monthly off road RMRC ride.

We jumped onto the TET just outside Newington and headed West, following the trails all the way through to the legendary Andy’s Hill at Harvel 😅

9 riders out in total, including:

* 2 x Kove 450 Rallys
* 1 x Kove 800X Rally

Perfect weather, dusty trails, great banter and another reminder of just how lucky we are to have this sort of riding right on our doorstep 👌

A proper mix of lanes, climbs, ruts and flowing sections, with everyone getting through without drama and with plenty of laughs along the way.

These midweek rides are rapidly becoming one of the best parts of the month 🍻

It’s not just Koves… 👀

Tonight we’ve gone out for dinner on something a bit… no, a LOT different 🇺🇸

This BMW K1600 B Grand America has just come into stock, and I have to admit, I’ve had a soft spot for these ever since we first sat on one at a bike show years ago. There’s just something about them. Big, smooth, comfortable, slightly ridiculous… but in all the right ways 😎

So with a warm evening like this, it seemed rude to leave it sitting in the showroom without taking it out properly.

And wow… what a bike. The six-cylinder engine is unbelievably smooth, the soundtrack is addictive, and it just eats miles effortlessly. It’s less “motorcycle” and more “luxury continent crusher with handlebars” 😅

Mid Kent’s roads are absolutely brutal at the moment. Not because of traffic… just because they’re so badly maintained it genuinely feels like riding through a war zone in places 🤦‍♂️

Safe to say the Grand America definitely doesn’t deal with potholes and broken surfaces like a GS does 👀

YOU should be ashamed of the state of some of these roads 😑

1,300 miles. 17 riders. 4 days. 3 nights. And without question… our best tour yet. 🇫🇷🏍️💨☀️⛰️

This weekend’s RMRC trip to Colmar and the Vosges Mountains had absolutely everything. Fast flowing mountain roads, endless switchbacks, incredible scenery, ridiculous weather changes, brilliant food… and a little bit of alcohol 🍺🫣 plus plenty of laughs from start to finish.

Over the 4 days we covered around 1,300 miles, with 2 full days spent deep in the mountains riding some of the best roads Europe has to offer.

And when we pulled into Eurotunnel we spotted this great looking Kove 450 Rally 👌

Already loaded up after riding sections of the TET through France on its own adventure before heading home.

We took both the Kove 800X Pro and the 800X Touring with us, and this trip was the hardest proper road test we’ve given them so far. Long motorway slogs, loaded luggage, fast mountain riding, brutal hairpins, baking hot sunshine, freezing rain, standing water… we really put them through their paces.

And both bikes were faultless.

The harder we pushed them, the more they just seemed to dig in and deliver. The chassis stability, the way they hold a line in corners, the way they drive out of corners, the braking performance, the comfort over huge mileage… honestly, you cannot believe how hard you can push these bikes on the road.

Joe rode the Pro all weekend fitted with the Cool Cover, and it turned out to be the perfect combination of comfort and practicality. Extra airflow on the hot days, comfortable over the massive mileage, and on the final day it became less of a seat cover and more of a water evacuation system 😂

Because the rain on the last day was biblical.

At one point a jet ski would genuinely have made more sense.

Meanwhile James spent the entire weekend on the Touring focusing on one critical feature…

The heated seat 🤣

Now we need to talk about something we’ve never really spoken about before…

Pirelli tyres.

Specifically the Pirelli Scorpion Rally STRs.

If we’re honest, we’ve never promoted Pirelli at all.

Not because we’ve ever had problems with them, but simply because they’re a much harder company to deal with than many of the others in the industry.

But with the 800X Pro arriving on Scorpion Rally STRs as standard, we’ve suddenly found ourselves riding on them properly… and a LOT.

Both bikes are now properly bedded in, with the Pro having passed 3,000 miles and the Touring over 2,000 miles, and the more time we spend on the Pirelli Scorpion Rally STRs, the more impressed we become with them.

And after this weekend?

We’re seriously impressed.

On the motorway, on fast flowing sweepers, on hard-ridden mountain hairpins, in hot dry conditions, cold temperatures, and most importantly in absolutely treacherous standing-water rain conditions… they were phenomenal.

Not once did they do anything unpredictable.

The grip levels were incredible, the feedback was superb, and they inspired confidence no matter what the conditions threw at them. You always knew exactly what the tyre was doing underneath you, which on roads like these matters massively.

It’s very easy to look at a more adventure-focused tyre and assume you’re compromising road performance.

These absolutely do not feel like a compromise.

What a weekend. What a group. What a trip.

And we’ve got plenty more planned for the rest of the year 🇫🇷🏍️💨☀️⛰️
