Day two in Luxembourg 🇱🇺🏍️

The girls had clearly drawn the short straw today… staying behind at the 5-star hotel for a full day of pampering in the spa. 😂

Meanwhile, Scott and I dropped all the luggage off the bikes and headed out lightweight for a full day checking the route for the RMRC Luxembourg trip in October.

And what a day for it. ☀️

Absolutely stunning weather, fantastic roads and some properly beautiful scenery as we worked our way around northern Luxembourg, including Vianden and some of the roads, viewpoints and stops we’ll be taking the club to in a couple of weeks.

It might look like we’re just riding motorcycles around Luxembourg in the sunshine, but this is serious route research. 😂

It’s not your average day at work… but somebody had to do it. 🤷‍♂️🏍️🇱🇺

Day 1 – Luxembourg 🇱🇺

What. A. Day.

An early Eurotunnel, a quick blast through the boring bit of France and then we disappeared into the Ardennes — and from that point onwards, the day just got better and better.

It was red hot by lunchtime. Sunshine, virtually empty roads, beautiful little towns, sweeping bends and scenery that just kept getting better.

Lunch had to be Rochehaut, overlooking Bouillon. We’ve been stopping at this spot for nearly 10 years now on our trips to Luxembourg and the Nürburgring, and it never gets old. Bikes parked up, jackets off and lunch with one of our favourite views in the Ardennes. Perfect.

Then back on the bikes for the run into Luxembourg City.

Bikes parked. Quick change. Into town.

Luxembourg City is stunning. We wandered around the old town, down into the valley and then found somewhere that obviously had to be our first drinks stop…

Scott’s Pub. 😂

Then we discovered it had Scott’s Kitchen.

For anyone who knows our very own Sausage Scott, this was clearly no longer coincidence. 😂🌭

Naturally, photographic evidence was required.

And from there… well… dinner, a few more drinks and somehow four Margaritas appeared. 🍸😂

Then more drinks. And more. And more.

We can also confirm that Luxembourg is NOT a cheap city. 😱😂

Fantastic night though. Possibly best not to look at the bank account until we get home.

This weekend is really about two things — four friends getting away on the bikes and having a great time, while also pre-running the routes and stops for the RMRC Luxembourg trip in October.

And if the club weekend is anything like today, I think we’re going to have a VERY good time. 😂🏍️🇱🇺

Day 2 tomorrow — northern Luxembourg. Let’s see if it can possibly beat today.

Day 1 – Luxembourg 🇱🇺

What. A. Day.

Early start at Folkestone, bikes loaded onto the train and we’re heading for Luxembourg City today. Motorways first to get some miles behind us, then we’ll get off the main roads and into the Ardennes for the good stuff.

No big agenda this weekend. Four of us, two bikes, three countries, some great roads, good food and hopefully considerably less drama than the last European trip. 😂

We’ll stick a few photos and updates up as we go.
