This is the FIRST Porsche 911 RSR ever built.

Not one of the first. The first.

Chassis 9113600002 started life in March 1972 as a Porsche factory development 911 S before being transformed into the prototype for what would become one of the most successful racing 911 bloodlines ever.

The numbers/history are ridiculous:

1 of just 2 RSR prototypes
2.8-litre flat-six
Equipped today with 1 of only 4 short-stroke Porsche works
engines
10th overall at the 1,000 km of Zeltweg in 1972
Sold to Martini Racing and given the iconic silver Martini livery
6th overall at the 1973 Targa Florio
FIA documented
Widely regarded as the first 911 RSR ever built

For context, the production 2.8 RSR's 2,806cc engine produced around 300 PS at 8,000rpm, and Porsche built only 49 customer examples, alongside the tiny number of works/ prototype cars.

More than 50 years later, chassis 0002 survives in its Martini colours and is now being offered for sale by Mechatronik in Germany.

Quite possibly one of the most important air-cooled 911s in existence.

We’re absolutely in love with this collaboration — two iconic names coming together to create something truly special.

It started with a dashboard clock. A simple request, really, from Singer Vehicle Design to Louis Vuitton…..What arrived, however, is a conversation between two houses that understand the art of enduring design.

The brief naturally expanded. A timepiece, yes, but then the entire cockpit. Louis Vuitton’s watchmakers and designers reimagined the very essence of the instrument cluster, drawing from the codes of the Tambour, down to the sweep of a hand.

The colour palette speaks volumes too -a saffron pulled from LV’s archives and a cobalt blue echoing vintage travel trunks, a deliberate nod to a century of automotive livery.

This is not merely customisation. This is a dialogue between engineering and artistry, where every detail, from the stitching to the speed markings, carries a story.

What happens when two legends decide to build something entirely new? This.
