We're Hiring!!

We are looking for a qualified Mechanic Vehicle Technician to join our friendly local garage in Penarth.

Established in 1963 Gimber Motors provides MOT testing, servicing and repairs. Our team has more than 50 years experience working at Gimbers, so you will be joining a reliable team providing excellent and quality service to our clients.

✅️We are looking for a Level 3 qualified mechanic, min. 3 years experience and ideally with MOT Technician Certificate, who enjoys the variety of working on all makes and models.

🕖 Working hours are 8am -5pm, Mondays -Fridays and every third Saturday morning.
22 days leave plus bank holidays and reduced hours over Christmas period.

Dual mass flywheel with a collapsed center bearing. A dual mass flywheel absorbs the shock when releasing the clutch to provide smooth gear changes. When faulty it can be noisy and make your engine feel off balance. We always check the condition of the dual mass flywheel when changing a clutch and replace if necessary.

We are now offering all customers the option of having their car disinfected with the new CV1SHOT coronavirus neutraliser or as we call it the "covid bomb" before collection for just £10. It is discharged in the footwell and ensures all surfaces are disinfected from coronavirus including the ventilation systems. (If not, the contact areas of your car will still be wiped down thoroughly with steriliser as currently)

Hi Everyone,

Great news! From the 1st of July we will be open with our usual full time business hours. We will be following all government guidelines. Social distancing will apply in our reception and when picking up or dropping off vehicles. We are looking forward to welcoming back our customers safely and we will be disinfecting all vehicles before your collection.

The Department for Transport announced today that the 6-month MOT exemption for cars, vans and motorcycles introduced during the COVID-19 outbreak, will end on 1st August. This means if your car MOT runs out after the 7th August the old expiry date will remain and you will need to have an MOT to be road legal.

Please give us a ring or drop into the garage to make a booking or take advantage of our Facebook booking system to beat the rush.
