Big throwback today 🚗✨

Looking at this photo of my son passing his driving test 5 years ago brings back such great memories! Getting that license opened up so many new doors for him:

I understand that some people find the theory test hard. But it’s so important to truly understand what you can and can’t do on the roads. Remember your instructor will not cover every detail on road driving.

🚗 KNOW YOUR INSTRUCTOR: LOOK FOR THE BADGE 🛑

When you’re learning to drive, you deserve the best—and the most qualified—tuition. Before you get behind the wheel, always check that your instructor is legally authorized to teach.

What should you look for?

The DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) issues badges that must be clearly displayed on the instructor's windscreen:

✅ THE GREEN BADGE (Octagon)

• What it means: This is a Fully Qualified Approved Driving Instructor (ADI).

• The Standard: They have passed all three qualifying exams and are fully registered.

✅ THE PINK BADGE (Triangle)

• What it means: This is a Trainee instructor.

• The Standard: They are licensed to give tuition for 6 months to gain experience before their final practical exam.

Why does it matter?

• Legality: It is illegal for anyone to charge for driving lessons if they do not hold one of these valid badges.

• Safety: Valid badge holders have passed background (DBS) checks and meet strict DVSA standards.

• Insurance: Using an illegal instructor may mean you aren't properly insured during your lesson.

Don’t be shy—if you don’t see it, ask to see it! 🛡️
