4x4 Workshop Mechanic & Customization Technician
If you are a skilled mechanic who is tired of mundane dealership oil changes and wants to work on exciting, complex custom builds where no two days are the same, we want to hear from you.
Location:
Unit 6 Lilford Lodge Farm, Barnwell, near Oundle/Peterborough
Position: Full-Time, Monday–Friday (Saturdays by appointment only)
Salary: £25,000 – £42,000 per year (depending on experience)

The Role
You will be working in a well-equipped, highly personal workshop environment, turning our customers' off-road dreams into reality. Your daily responsibilities will go far beyond standard servicing.
Key Responsibilities:
Bespoke Modifications: Installing suspension upgrades, lift kits, winches, custom bumpers, underbody armor, roof tents, and canopies.
Advanced Diagnostics & Auto-Electrics: Handling faults, custom rewiring, and creating bespoke wiring harnesses for off-road accessories.
Fabrication & Welding: Performing MIG welding and custom fabrication to complete unique build requirements.
Routine & Major Servicing: Conducting full vehicle examinations, diagnostic testing, interval servicing, and MOT prep to main dealer standards.
Quality Assurance: Road testing vehicles and ensuring all custom work complies with strict safety and quality standards.
What We Are Looking For
We need someone with an analytical mind, excellent problem-solving skills, and a genuine passion for vehicle mechanics and design.
Experience:
Proven experience as a mechanical technician (experience working specifically with 4x4 platforms is a major plus).
Auto-Electrical Skills: Strong grasp of vehicle electrical systems, diagnostics, and custom wiring (1+ years preferred).
Welding/Fabrication: Confident with MIG welding and manipulating metal for custom bracketry or armor (1+ years preferred).
Mindset:
The ability to work independently on your own initiative, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and bring common-sense logic to complex custom projects.
