Please see information from NNC regarding road closures affecting Ringstead.

As we move into autumn 2026, we will be carrying out carriageway surveys and investigations at locations that may be considered for the 2027 Surface Dressing Programme.

To complete these surveys safely and accurately, temporary road closures will be needed during working hours. The surveys need to take place in daylight so our teams can clearly assess the condition of the carriageway.

Ringstead Road / Station Road, Ringstead – Tuesday 29 September 2026

• For access to Great Addington, please enter and exit via Woodford.

• For access to Ringstead, please enter and exit via Denford.

Denford Road, Ringstead – Wednesday 30 September 2026

• For access to Ringstead, please enter and exit via Great Addington.

• For access to Denford, please enter and exit via the northern entrance from Thrapston, under the A14.

We understand that road closures can be inconvenient. To help reduce disruption, we have planned these surveys alongside other maintenance activities wherever possible, making best use of each closure and reducing the need for future visits.

Although the roads will be signed as closed, access will be managed by our site teams. The work will be carried out on one side of the carriageway at a time, and residents, businesses and essential users will be escorted through the area when it is safe to do so. There may be short delays while vehicles are guided safely through the works, and we appreciate everyone's patience and understanding.

These surveys help us make informed decisions about future road maintenance, so we can invest in the right locations at the right time and support a planned programme of preventative maintenance for 2027.

Summer:

September 11, 2001 🕊️

Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

We remember the passengers and crew, the people in the buildings, and the firefighters, police officers, paramedics and other first responders who ran towards danger to help others.

Behind every number was a person — someone’s parent, child, partner, sibling, friend or colleague.

25 years on, we remember them, those who were left behind, and all those whose lives were forever changed that day.

We will never forget. 🕊️
