Huge congratulations to Lily who passed her driving test FIRST TIME at Chilwell Test Centre with ONLY THREE MINOR FAULTS!

Lily approached us at WAY A.HEAD Automatic Driving School after reading and hearing about how we help lots of students with anxiety and additional needs such as Autism and ADHD and was looking for the right instructor to help her learn to drive. She came to her first lesson feeling anxious and nervous but very quickly relaxed and built a great rapport with her instructor Wayne, that allowed her to feel comfortable and confident. Now, she's just passed her driving test on her FIRST ATTEMPT with ONLY THREE MINORS!

"When I first started looking at learning to drive I didn’t know who to go with as I was so nervous and worrying about my hidden disability hindering me from learning to drive. I came across Way A.Head automatic driving school and read the information on the website that the instructor works with people who have anxiety/ feeling nervous and have additional needs, I contacted Wayne and started my lessons. At first I was very nervous learning the basics and wasn’t amazing at driving but as time went on I became more confident and competent at driving due to Wayne’s brilliant teaching skills, his calm approach and our entertaining conversations, I always felt calm and comfortable whilst driving which helped with my confidence. Wayne was always able to answer any questions I asked whether it be about the car or things to do with on the road. As another year comes to a close, I have been reflecting on how privileged I am to be able to do my job - helping teach people an incredibly important life skill - learning to drive. I take huge pride in delivering top-quality driving lessons and offering value for money for all my pupils. I try to balance being professional with having a warm, friendly nature and plenty of patience - a must in my job! Most importantly though, I enjoy playing a small role in peoples' lives as they embark on learning this hugely important life skill. I love seeing students' confidence grow week by week as they learn new skills and put into practise the knowledge they have gained and when my students are finally ready to go for their practical test there is no greater feeling than hearing them proudly declare, "I've passed!"
Teaching people to drive confidently and safely is a huge responsibility and a massive pleasure but I couldn't do the job I do without the incredible hard work, effort and determination of the wonderful pupils I teach.
So as we say goodbye to 2025 and hello to 2026, I'd like to raise a glass and say a huge thank you to all my students past and present that make my job such a privilege!
And to any potential drivers out there, if you're considering learning to drive, then why not make 2026 the year you start your journey and get your licence. I am usually always fully booked up but have a couple of spaces available in the new year so get in touch if you'd like to book in.
