Ok, for those old gits out there who get sick of looking at a blurred display, what do you do to get round it?

I tried sitting glasses on the end of my nose and it works surprisingly well, as my head is tilted forwards so I can easily see over them.

I'd also heard of a film you can put over the display that does a similar thing but can't seem to find it.

What do you do, or do you just guess what speed you're doing? 😂

I'd like to clear up what I believe to be an urban myth.

Many older people I speak to about motorcycles tend to tell me this story...

"I had a mate who took his test in the olden days when we used to ride around a block. When the examiner suddenly jumped out on him for the emergency stop, it was the wrong rider and he got ran over"

This is possibly where that story came from, an episode of Some Mothers Do ave em... Or this episode stemmed from the myths.

I honestly doubt that official government examiners were taught to "suddenly jump out" on a bike.
The emergency stop I did in 1983 was clear, slow and obvious. The examiner stood clearly in view, looked around to make sure it's clear
then raised his clipboard.
And it's always "a mate" this happened to.. So far there's been another several more "running overs" from different parts of the country in the comments 😉

If anyone has actual proof (names and dates) that this happened, please pm me so I can research it. Thanks.

Quick message for those who think using a steering lock alone will be sufficient. Time how long this took then work out how long it'll take to repair once (if) you get the bike back. Photo of lock damage in comments. Here's my YouTube security video to help you.

Hey everyone. Had just washed a bike (MT07) and went in to book someone in for training. A passer by videoed someone nicking it. Fortunately, all of our bikes have trackers fitted and we recovered it within half an hour. Because it was a live crime, the police also turned up to find it was just left there, maybe the little angels were checking to see if it's tracked by waiting. Steering lock wasn't on but remember my security video, they can be kicked off in seconds anyway so no damage here. Trackers are readily available on ebay and a £5 giffgaff sim card will give you peace of mind. Nothing's guaranteed but on this occasion, it ended well.
