Old school method to check the clearance of the dome top pistons and the cylinder head at top dead centre.
By putting blue tack on the piston and rotating the engine , if there is any interference ie piston hitting the head it will show in the blue tack.
This piston is a higher compression so the cylinder head has to be machined for clearance.

Building an ID19 engine for a Traction, and I always weigh the pistons for an even match and there’s always one piston that’s over weight and this one is by 8 grams, I’ve removed the inner lip and only gained 4grams , so I’ve measured the D rods and found a lighter one in the set which balances out. So all pistons and rods are all the same weight.
I’ve bought a tap to recut the threads in the Crankshaft as they were damaged ( m22x 1.25 tap)

First run after the engine rebuild.

It’s good to be back to work after my Hernia operation ( but I’m not lifting).
Collected a customers DS19 for a Traction from the machine shop, as it’s just had the block skimmed with liners in situ , the block and liners were uneven, 1.15mm machined to get them level.
