Australia visits binbrook!

You never know who is going to drop into our guardroom, and today we had a family from Australia 'on a flying visit'.

David's father, John Haley, was in 9Sqn during the 50's, working as a fitter on the Canberra's. In true RAF style, was also known as Bill (Haley)!

Today it was wonderful to welcome Roland Bee to RAF Binbrook on a 'trip down memory lane'.

Roland was a navigator here at Binbrook in the 50's on the Canberras.

He was in 9Sqn and enjoyed reminiscing of his time here and also memories of the 617 & 9 sqn Turpitz bulkhead 'thievings'!

Roland and his wife Frances, now live in Suffolk and his special trip was organised by his nephew David and wife Carol Bee.

Today's coffee morning did not just bring cakes but also some special visitors!

Peter Blackburn from Dunoon and Elaine Carroll from Bridgend.

Both worked here at RAF Binbrook during the 1980's. Peter was on the police at the Guardroom, and Elaine on the switchbeard at headquarters.

What a pleasure to have them visit and reminisce, and have a chat with other ex RAF Binbrook.
