After a a good 5 years layoff from trials I decided while we were away last weekend to have another go, this time at pre 65.
So I bought a bike Monday locally off FB and entered a trial on the Sunday.

Having never riden the bike appart from around the garden for a few minutes l didn't do too bad!
A silly five on section 4 cost me big time! having said that I finished second in class, 8th overall.
Not bad results considering I'm well out of practice and the C15 is setup not for me!

Overall the bike ran nice! I just need to address the footrests position as there far to high and alter the handlebar position as there way to far back!

The combination of both makes the bike feel unstable and pushes the front wheel out at any given opportunity.

This is something that I'll sort over the next few months when I get chance at the moment its all about getting out there and riding again!

Back at the head in the lathe work again!
What could possibly go wrong!
This is a standard head that I'm machined up to fit the 350 race piston as its a widecase head it needs the squish machined out slightly and at a different angle.
This one particular bad as the head surface was badly pitted so I've had to re skim it and take the same of the outer face too.
That stage one done!

When l stripped this engine a while back l found a shim behind the main bearing on the bevel side something I'd never come across before!
Now I'm currently on with building it back up it has become apparent that it was in there for a reason as the bevels hit the main bearing!
So by the looks of it , it was done at the factory to overcome some badly machined cases.
Its all sorted now by simply grinding a few tho of the the bevel gears themselves.
Like I keep saying there isn't two engine the same!

Something a bit different this week!
Not very often I work on belt bike's. Its maybe something that I might have to get a bit more into in the future.
This one is my own bike that I've had nearly 9 years and not even rode it!
Its all back together again after being in pieces for quite a number of years.
Its now been delivered to its new owner to get some pleasure out of riding it unlike me that seems to never find the time to get out and enjoy motorcycles anymore.

First start up today for the Ducati 250 Desmo!
Started up 1st kick, tick over was a little high due to the throttle cable being a bit tight but other than that all good.
This is the first time its ran since the big end let go in the 90's.
Body work and tank is of to be painted Monday then it will be reunited back to its owner to enjoy it.

Back at it again today after a bit of time off with the wife!
Back onto the parade bike engine, just a mild tune for this one with a 173A cam.
New rod kit, high compression piston and better setup.
It should be a nice engine once it's done.

Well the job does have it's occasionally bonuses! Had a nice test ride out this afternoon on a customers MV 350 Electron...

Had a nice test ride out this afternoon on a customers MV 350 Electronica must say it's a bike I've always like the looks off.
And it didn't disappoint, what a stunning bike it is too.
