That's another one done! Been a bit of a labour of love this one as its had a hard life in the past!
Despite all off that it come up like new again, we have put a slightly bigger cam in it from standard so it should go a bit better than a standard engine.
Time now for a bit of "time out" as it's been non stop since the New Year!

One Race engine done and out the door in time for the practice at Darley Moor last Friday.
Turned out a lot more work than we thought this one as there was no real settings done to work too before!
Basically it was start again ! Turn out very nice in the end tho, here's a few pictures along the way.

The thought of the cylinder head fly across the workshop as it come out the chuck on the lathe!
Thankfully all good!
This is a widecase cylinder head that has had to have the squish machined out for a 77.0mm race piston.
It has come out as perfect as you could get , which I'm well happy about.

Full day at it today! Just about got this one all cleaned up and ready to go back together again.
This is a race engine that's in for a refresh so not to bad which make a change!
Im putting a different cam in it, plus it needs a bit of work to the seats and in the chamber, he should see a massive improvement once its all done.

Well that's another one done! Not been to bad this one just the usual problems and upgrades!
The engine is going into a cafe racer style of Ducati which the customer is building.
I'm looking forward to seeing the end result.
Gone for a 173A Cam in it and messed a bit inside it so it should go a bit better than standard.
Just couple more to do and silly season will be over and hopefully make a start on my race bike!

Couple of balance crank with Arrow Rod kits turned up last week!
Ones for a 250 race engine I'm building and the others for my 450 road bike should I ever get time to do it!
Thanks to Lacey Engineering for a fantastic job on both.

Just been on with this head for a customer, the person he bought the bike of had put new guides in it!
When I came to put new valves in it they would even go down the guide as they had not been honed out at all.
Once I had honed them out I tested the contact area of the valve to seat area, as you can see they were only touching on a quarter of the seat!
After recutting the seats and a bit more work in the chamber its all sorted and ready to go back together again!

Another one that arrived a while back! A loosely assembled 350 bottom end and most of it in boxes.
It was ìn a bit of a sorry old state but I've been going through it bit by bit and it all ready for assembly tomorrow!
This engine is going into a trials bike, so we will be doing the usual mods to it, and putting the cam in it I had done which is tried and tested and seems to work very well.
