We came home from the Greener Bodyshop Awards 2026 win. Here is what that means if your car is booked in with us.

We try to repair a panel before we replace it. That is the biggest environmental saving in any job, and it usually means your car is back with you sooner.

When a part does need replacing, green and recycled parts are an option on the right job, which can bring the cost down too.

Our cleaning solvents and thinners are recycled on site rather than thrown away, and our cardboard, metal, aluminium, bumpers and plastics are all separated and recycled.

None of it changes the standard of the repair. Same checks, same standards, same warranty. Just less waste getting there.

Only two days to go! 🎉 This Thursday 3rd September, the whole Stanways team will be at the NBRA ceremony, where we're proud to be shortlisted as a FINALIST in FIVE categories: Industry Innovation, the 'Bob Linwood' Apprentice, Sustainability, Customer Service and Greener Bodyshop. Being named a finalist across so many areas means the world to us, and it's all thanks to the wonderful support of our Lytham St Annes community. More and more cars on our roads now use aluminium panels and structures and here's the thing: aluminium and steel can't be repaired in the same space. The tools, dust and particles from one can contaminate the other, compromising the repair. That's why the Stanways team built a dedicated structural aluminium bay, up and running since July 2026, with its own tooling, extraction and working area kept completely separate from our steel repair work. It sits within our BS10125 scope, and we're proud to say we've held zero non conformances across 2024, 2025 and 2026. Proper repair starts with having the right place to do it. Behind the scenes at Stanways this week 🔧 The repair industry has a well-known shortage of skilled technicians, so rather than just talk about it, we're doing something about it here in Lytham St Annes. Our apprentices spend every day in the workshop learning the trade properly, hands-on, alongside technicians who've clocked up decades of experience between them. From panel work to paint finishing, they're picking up skills that can't be taught from a textbook. We're genuinely proud of the next generation coming through our doors, and excited to see where they take their careers.

We measured our carbon footprint. 74.2 tonnes. That's not a rough guess - it's a proper, verified figure, worked out as part of achieving ARIES Level 2 certification. It means our carbon footprint is measured, not estimated. We know more and more insurers and fleet operators here on the Fylde Coast are starting to ask repairers for this kind of data, and we think being upfront about it matters. As the Stanways team put it: 'We'd rather show our working and publish the real number than talk in vague terms about being green. This is where we are, and we'll keep measuring and improving.'
