I am seeing this issue more and more, it’s always been a problem where dealerships will up sell the likes of Diamond Brite, Life Shine, GardX, StarGard etc and then either rarely apply the protection to the vehicle or apply it poorly over the top of any defects already in the paint sealing it all in. Their protection packages don’t last due to poor prep work.
On top of this the cost can be anything from £300-£900, like I say above it’s rarely applied so your paying out that money for a bag of maintenance products worth about £40 and a sticker in your windscreen.
Detailers offer a much better service with ceramic coatings that actually last one because the vehicle under goes a paint correction prior to applying the full ceramic coating so tho a duration form 12months up to 8 years dependant on the coating applied.
In your looking at purchasing a new car please contact your local detail or us if your local to get a quote prior to signing up and wasting your money at a dealership.
